It should still be using the hybrid engine they developed so I guess some areas of said game engine is a bit crude, it started (After the last complete restart of DNF that is.) as a Unreal Engine 2 build after all but by now there's supposedly not much left of that original code so calling it the Duke engine would probably be more accurate.
Don't know the specifications or what they've actually done to it but they do manage to match UE3 (To at least compare against something a bit similar.) in several areas (Though it likely can't match recent upgrades to that engine.) and the gameplay should be fun from what we've seen so far atleast although I don't expect top of the line visuals but I think it holds up pretty decently considering the engine and the issues the game has had plus of course all these delays but as the videos show the outdoor sequences in particular look a bit rough and barren though very few areas were demonstrated.
(The sequence with the 4x4 vehicle stood out even more.)
I think it looks good and will be a blast. That or a mega fail. I highly doubt it'll be fail though, as after taking over they would have spent longer developing it. It's big news this one.
It's just pathetic that randy pitchford guy goes on and on about how awesome duke will be. Its gonna rock, its gonna blow you away, we know the real deal about duke, its a blast....and then:
Only 2 weapon at the same time
No jetpack in SP mode.
No keycards
And with that 2 weapon limit they will force you that you can only use "this and that weapon here" and "here you can use the shotgun and that other weapon"
Maybe you can carry the weapon you like (meaining they wont reset your weapons like in killzone3) ....they just simply won't place ammo caches for that weapon..so you will be forced to switch that weapon (just like in fear2)

Not to mention it already looks like 10 year old game.

No, the new Tech N9ne album will be a disappointment. I think this will still have a good few hours of fun involved - mostly from nostalgia, like how I just played through Virtua Tennis 4
That was a shame. Second map has broken textures so it's totally unplayable. Game is Duke Nukem, but other than that the gameplay doesn't really feel unique at all imo. Health regen and quicktime evens when something awesome is going to happen. But this is surely widely known.
Didn't really get to play enough to judge this game fairly. Only enemy i got to kill was a boss. The boss from the videos.
