You guys realize the PS3 "screenshot" is taken from one of the trailers, right?

The PS3 version is better according to the reviews.

Having spent a lot of time with both versions of L.A. Noire, the PlayStation 3 game is the clear-cut winner. Both versions of the game look fantastic, but there were a few instances of painful frame rate drops and objects drawing in too slowly on the Xbox that didn't exist on the PS3. Also, the shadows look a bit more jagged. This is splitting hairs since, both games look good enough that you should just get the one on the platform you prefer, though the PS3 also has the added benefit of being on a single disc to the Xbox's three, and includes an exclusive downloadable case (which I didn't get to try, and you probably won't be able to play either until the PlayStation Store is back online).

Ive just wasted 1 dvd for L.A.Noire.XBOX360.DVD2.RF-iND ...

Ive was burning it normally. Nothing done. Only standard abgx check.

Burining failed on Finalizing disc stage in IMGburn 99%. Maybe its just a failure disc. Should I try on another or Do I need to do something to this image?

I'm a mod on PSX-Scene and NOBODY, not a single person, has reported having the PS3 version or even seeing it around. What FW does it require?

Well because your a mod on psx-scene - and nobody came out of the dark claiming they own a copy, you say nobody actually got it?

My machine is fully patched and nonhacked - run 3.61 updated last night when PSN came back on!

If I'm wrong, I'll happily apologise.. but I don't believe I am. The 360 version leaked and the entire internet knew about it within hours - yet apparently the PS3 version has sailed under the radar with NOBODY talking about having it? Sorry, I've been online far too long to be that gullible.

No one has the PS3 version, I haven't seen anyone mention it on any PS3 forums. And if someone did, I would expect them to post their findings on a Playstation forum, as opposed to acting like a jackass about it at nfoHump.

Wasn't what I expected? But not sure what I expected really either. It's a good game though, the only game I can compare it to would be Heavy Rain eventhough it's not like that game either. What it does reminds me of in a weird way is the old Sierra game Police Quest. The way it is played, getting your mission briefing, take the car to the crimescene and there searching for clues. It is a very nice familiar feeling though. I am sure that if Police Quest would had been released today it would had looked something like this game.

It's actually much more MAFIA 1 (PC) meets Shenmue.

Did you enjoy Mafia (though really I see more GTA4 in this than Mafia, aside from the 40s setting)? Did you enjoy Shenmue? Did you enjoy Heavy Rain? You'll thoroughly enjoy, if not love, this. It's a wonderful mesh of Shenmue and Mafia, with GTA4 visuals. Lot of trial and error, which makes for slightly frustrating play, but overall the story and presentation is top notch.

Worth buying? Well I'm 8hrs in, still on disk 1, and loving almost-every second of it. Yes, worth buying.

Shenmue and Mafia were gems. GTA went down hill after they got serious with it. Too many bugs and glitches and issues with gameplay. Neutral So if it's mafia + shenmue with the flaws of grand theft auto... then i unno lol. It could be a great game, but does it play like it's represented. That's what bothered me with all rockstar games.

Mafia 1 is still the best open world game. I really can't understand what happened with mafia 2 Sad Fucking let down.

Sabin, you got it working! Well done! Smile

Yes, it's incredible. Mainly because it's ORIGINAL and it NOT FALLING INTO TRENDS! It makes out that it's a detective game set in the 40's and that's EXACTLY what it does perfectly. People winge about not having enough crazy driving or shooting scenes; THESE THINGS ARE NOT REALISTIC! YOU'VE BEEN WATCHING TOO MANY NCIS & CSI EPISODES! In REAL LIFE, this is how investigations are executed. I actually think they were FORCED to add in the extra 'side missions' to try and keep the 'derping' population a little more quiet.

I LOVE IT - Perfection Smile

Yeah mate, turns out I have to use Activate.iso - despite being on LT1.x - but no matter, it works and that's all that matters. Once I've paid off a few bills, I'm going to pick this up on retail. Team Bondi have really wowed me with LA Noire.

There's not much action like car chasing and shooting. It's more about searching clues and talking to people. I think the people that expect a GTA in the 40s will be VERY disappointed because this is a detective game where you solve crimes, not like GTA where you shoot things up and get chased by the cop.

As I'm sitting here thinking about it, it kind of reminds me of the old Tex Murphy games? Under a Killing Moon (or what was the name?) with a slightly more open play style.

You'll find that the majority of the "action" scenes come from in-car dispatch crimes. The actual crux of the game is investigation, interrogation, searching for the facts and then putting together the case. It definitely reminds me of the classic point'n'click adventure games (Tex Murphy <3) -- only a LOT tougher. There's no manual saving, so if you make a mistake you either have to live with it or reload an older autosave, and unlike the older adventure games; you can't just click on every item you have until one works .... if you choose the wrong "item" (read: evidence) to support your claim; it's over. You failed and have to continue on, hopefully to salvage the situation, or fail, or reload.

Damned fun though grinhurt

There are three settings of auto-aim;

Off, Mild, Strong (or something to that effect) Auto-aim in this works like in COD on consoles; tap the left trigger and the curse "snaps" to the enemy. You can, of course, disable it.
