So I copied the files from the SKIDROW release into my Steam folder. When I try to verify the game files, it reaches 100% but then goes back to 50% and stays there til I cancel. Anyone know what's wrong?

Do you have to keep formulae/recipes/diagrams in your inventory or can you sell them without losing the ability to craft the item?

If it's like The Witcher 1, you can sell them after you've read them.

It's not, at least in the sense that you don't "read" them, you just get them, have them in your inventory and use them through the crafting screen. You don't right click the recipe item at any point. Wondering whether I lose the ability to craft once I sell it. I hope not, because them bitches have weight.

Cant check right now :X

Sold the diagram and I could no longer have the item crafted by blacksmith. So by the looks of it you need to have it in your inventory at all times.

A bit stupid if you ask me. At least if they could be hidden and didn't weight anything. This way the inventory gets cluttered quickly. I hope there will be a mod for that or something.

Also regarding the optimization I currently run it on my old computer, Q6600@3GHz, 8GB ram, 5850 with settings below. Game runs at about 30fps in chapter two (in town where there are lot of NPC). GPU load is only about 50% but CPU is having a hard time, so maybe my CPU is a bottleneck. I will see once I get back my Sandy bridge mobo from RMA

Smile) Look, I'm sacrificing work time to play witcher 2 - to install fable 3 now (which according to Sabin, who I trust most of the time, is a derped experience) would be fucking suicide. Do I look like an assassin in the witcher universe?

Awesome game. Can't stop playing all day. Beats the living crap out of pathetics like Dragon Age 2. One minus I can think of right now is that it's easy even on hard. Sad I can zap even a stack of soldiers off pretty easily. Nonetheless, the bestest game so far this year!

LOL! Oh come on man, we all have our guilty pleasures Wink KZ2 isn't actually that bad - aside from the overbloom, the visuals are jaw-dropping and the gameplay is pretty cool too. I prefer KZ's version of cover shooting than any of the typical crap we get these days. I'm sure you've got some guilty "derp" pleasure that you're keeping to yourself Wink

I enjoyed Homefront because of the setting and the pacing. It was certainly a lot better than Black Ops and Medal of Honour, that's for damned sure, and like I said; I'm a huge fan of hack'n'slash RPGs - which is why I put so much time into Derp Age 2. Is it in ANY way remotely as good as the first game? SHIT NO. Was it worth playing for "free"? Of course! ^_^

Fable III is the same.. it's worth checking out IF you can play it for "free" - but to buy? Not a fucking chance.

@topic

I got over my bitch-fit about the performance earlier. Reinstalled the game and started tinkering ... I've copied ixigia's settings (we have practically identical PCs) and at 1920x1080 it's barely what I would usually accept as playable; 30-35fps in heavy fight scenes, 45fps+ with few actors on the screen. I STILL stand by my opinion that the visuals in this game do not warrant such serious machine rape .. I'm sorry, but they don't. In a lot of scenes, Witcher 1 looks better.

BUT! Gameplay is fun - the ludicrous difficulty in the prologue, I found out, is due to doing the sections in mis-matched order. If you take the "what of the Dragon?" path before the first one... enemies kick the ever-living shit out of you. Two hits and almost all your health is gone (on Normal) but if you do it sequentially (with the Dragon attack being the 3rd phase) then the fight difficulty progresses nicely. After playing the combat a bit longer, I enjoy it - though it's still more of a button basher than TW1 was--- only this time you're like a circus freak having to roll all over the place like a baffoon Rolling Eyes Still got the Witcher atmosphere and I'm enjoying it so far.

And yes... this game pisses all over trash like Dragon Age 2. They shouldn't even be compared (BioWare is naught but a shadow of what it once was) so I'm offended someone compared me to that dipshit on Metacritic. Shame on you. Shame

... performance still sucks balls though. I need to hurry up and get my retail key so I can register the game and get those updates.
