So let me get this straight.. I buyed the GOG version and I finished installing it and I see it's the same version as the Skidrow version..
uhm from reading some stuff that m3th0d2008 posted in the previous pages from the CDP team.. we still have to wait for a big patch or something?

The dialogue and backstory in act 2 is some of the best I've seen since Mask of the betrayer and, indeed Baldur's Gate 2.

Is anyone running the game on 8800GT? What FPS do you get. For some reason, I get shit FPS no matter what setting and I installed beta drivers. The CPU is AMD Phenom II X4 955, and 4 gigs of Kingston HyperX at 1600Mhz.

I have installed the game patched with the patcher: patcher_EFIGS.exe
Now i have to copy the files from the bin directory i have there one file called paul.dll
Tried to copy it to the game installation directory under BIN directory and got virus alert by NODE32
whats that ? The crack have a virus ?

Hmm I'm still enjoying myself luxurating in the Prologue trying to take every plot branch to the next decision point and save go back n explore the other. last time I came up for air there was talk of derp age 2 fanbois & bioware slaves sledging this game in metacritic, I suppose this game would be quite difficult if you were only used to playing with an x360 controller instead of KB n yer RPG experience was limited to console ports.
I haven't had any ctd yet but my 460 has frozen at a couple of points the screeen filled up with lotsa pink dots before it cleared isself and moved on.
When that happened in DA2 it it would cause a ctd, so maybe this game is more stable.
As for the cause it must be the card I replaced the 460 couple months back when I gave the original to one of the kids, the plan being to sli his about July(kids n their birthdays keep ya poor) and grab a 570 for myself .
That's all to shit now lol. This card is a lemon I reckon.
Anyway back 2 game, I'm hardly in it but in terms of storyline gameplay and graphics it has to be the best rpg I've played.
I'm sure there are older games whose story is better, but they won't be nearly as immersive as this. Admittedly the graphics thing is driven by technical progress rather than game developers art, but these guys have done a much better job of utilising the current technology than anyone else who claimed to be serious about using dx10 & 11 features in a real rpg.
As for the bugs ctd etc, I'd rather have them knowing they came from the devs stretching the limits of the tech, as cdp appear to be - there have been ad nauseum threads about the difficulties of making a bug free prog that will work on any of the millions of potential combinations of hardware and software which PC's can have - Sure some will say cdp haven't done everything they could have but imo they have found a great balance between pushing the envelope and keeping the platform stable.
But my appreciation of wicher games is best expressed by this simple fact which is prolly repeated in many other homes on the planet.
I have literally hundreds prolly thousands of games - the homeserver holds 1.8TB of game images and rips of games dating back to the late 80's - I own (in the sense that I have the boxes, disks and manuals) for 3 rpg games all the rest have been pirated. Of the three rpg's I own, two are Witchers. 1 enhanced edition (it was when they released the enhanced version free to everyone who had legit bought Witcher 1 first edition I decided these guys were worthy of support and bought the enhanced edition) and Witcher 2 .
This will be why Bioware is havin a hissy fit I'll warrant that I'm not the only person in this thread who grabbed Witcher 2 despite the rowdies doin the bizness on Day 1. Yet I waited for a decent crack of DA2 before playing it. Buyin that game was never contemplated.
The bio bitches should be making their game better, instead they waste time bitchin about others devs who have invested their energy & time in developing the game, not marketing plans or drm bullshit.

I have a i5-2500k @ 4.4ghz with 8gb ram. Game load levels in a flash. Still, I have a 9800GTX (nearly same performance) and it can't handle it. This game is slower than Crysis2. the game in 1080p at lowest settings give me 22-35fps. At 720p, I get low:37-59fps, medium:26-45fps, high 19-43fps. So lowering the resolution helps a lot more than switching the graphics from high to low.
Problem is, my video card just flinched out too, froze completely. Happened last month in AC:B too, guess it's time to buy a new one now  .

@Bout09: i don't think so.. my Avast detect a virus yesterday when I woke up to play.. I downloaded the Skidrow version again today for more testing and no virus after the scan. Guess it's some false shit triggering the AV.

>.< I really need a new GPU, but no money atm. I don't mind it playing at 30 FPS but the issue is for some weird reason FPS jumps all over. I know my GPU is old as bible, but it shouldn't run THIS bad when you tweak the settings and turn off GPU demanding stuff.

I have an 8800GT and I get virtually no performance difference between Low and High settings, 5 frames at most. I'm on act1 in the town and I get 20-25 FPS average. It's definitely my old X2 Athlon that's keeping it down. I run it at 1280x720 in a window.

The weird thing is the Phenom II should pull me off at least 30 FPS at the settings I've put. I'll investigate further.
Edit: I just preset the configuration to Low Spec, which means like everything is tonned down, and I get the same fucking FPS.

Are you using the latest drivers? I heard there were issues with Nvidia cards with older drivers.

Have you tried to lower monitor resolution ? maybe it could help.

I haven't. I'm playing at 1680x1050. I'll try some other stuff and tweak etc. then see how it works.

It happens with some AMD/ATi cards. It's circumvented by disabling full-screen, and instead going Windowed mode. Which sucks =/
Luckily, I had already planned to wait a week for another patch, and perhaps the Polish DCL (currently not available as Downloadable content). But got to say.. my HD6870 is having serious problems to keep decent frames at 2560x1440. Don't want to drop the pretties!

I have 9600 GT and the same CPU (specs are in sig), will report tomorrow, haven't started the game yet, didn't have time today. Will be playing in 1280x1024 though (so 1280x720 actually).
