February 2nd,

I haven't done much since I've run into more than expected Dutch naval patrols. I don't want to have a disastrous repeat of where I lost 4 full transports to random submarines. So I'm clearing out the area with my Navy, and I took time to move my base of operations closer to Australia, and ship some marines down from Hainan to wipe out a stubborn Dutch garrison in Bali:

Afterwards I'll begin my next step of naval operations.

Meanwhile, remember Tibet and Pakistan and all the painstaking defenses I arranged on the border with Mongolia? Well an AI bug happened, and for one day the AI redeployed all its troops. It completely fucked everything up except in Burma.

Shit took me 30 minutes to arrange, and will prolly take another 30 minutes to fix. FUCK.

Ah well, at least it didn't touch my troops in Burma:

Advance my worthless Chinese peasants! Into an equally worthless jungle! Left, right, left, right.

April 29, Yugoslavia has fallen:

I imagine we'll have war with Russia soon.

Meanwhile, I move to encircle the remnants of British forces in Burma:

Once I reach Akyab I will have encircled 12 enemy divisions. Not a bad tally... if I managed to annihilate them all.

Meanwhile, further east, the weather has cleared up and I am slowly taking up more islands:

Soon I'll be hitting New Zealand. And with New Zealand gone, Australia will be encircled from all sides...

I've completed 10 new fleets of transports. I'm thinking of using them to mount an amphibious invasion of Southern India. I just don't know if my fleet can stretch that far...

Hey VGA,

Yes I have tanks researching, and eventually once I get the time I'll build some. But right now I'm focusing on building a new fleet for the upcoming war against America, and that is taking up all my time:

I'll also be researching nukes, but I don't think I have to tell you that is years away... possibly 5 years Sad

July 4, 1941. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Lets celebrate by slaughtering commies. What could possibly go wrong?

Meanwhile, in Burma, the encirclement is almost complete:

Just 3 more days.

Meanwhile, in the Pacific, I'm setting up a forward base for my eventual assault against the USA:

And in the isles I am setting up a smaller army for the invasion of Australia. It should commence in 1 month:

Meanwhile, the Soviet border is a stalemate. I didn't allocate enough resources to make significant advances, but I hope to eventually roll the Soviets back from Vladivostok, the only really important area in the region...

Mongolia is a Soviet puppet, so I'm advancing up there with some Chinese troops:

Nothing to get excited over. Most of the Soviet Union I border is just vast wasteland. All the interesting parts the Germans get to conquer :S

Also note on the bottom that Finland joined our alliance Very Happy

August 22nd, 1941,

The invasion of Australia begins. Elite marine divisions, under the covering fire of my massive fleet, are assaulting and securing beachheads in Northern Australia and southern New Guinea:

Burma is a mess, my Chinese peasants are refusing to advance in half the attacks, and my encircling force got... encircled. A relief force is on the way:

I've annexed Nepal in the north of India, and am moving on Bhutan. Also Lahore has fallen and Peshawar is next. A lot less resistance than expected in Pakistan:

Invasion of Mongolia is progressing slowly... terrain is very hostile:

Soviet border is a mess, lots of skirmishing and thousands of lives lost, but no territorial gains:

I'm too busy invading Australia and preparing the invasion of America to take Vladivostok. Doesn't matter, as long as I anchor Soviet divisions on my front and prevent them from reinforcing against Germany in the far west, my job is done.

Meanwhile, the German Blitz is going well:

Epic ground war... sigh I wish I had tanks Sad

The invasion of Australia is progressing nicely. Should be done in a couple of months:

The Burma campaign against the British is drawing to an inevitable conclusion.

I'm taking the opportunity to shift the naval forces there over to the Pacific, to prepare for the American campaign:

Mongolia is about to fall to my Chinese horde:

And in the East, a Japanese Army that I redeployed from Hainan to North Korea slowly marches towards Vladivostok:

I've managed to round the Allies into two larger pockets in Burma:

Time to annihilate them.

Mongolia has fallen. I've allocated the land to my puppet Mengukuo (Inner Mongolia):

In the Northeast, Vladivostok has fallen:

In Australia, Melbourne has fallen. I now just need to occupy the Southwest of the country, and Australia will be mine:

A small task force is being allocated for the invasion of New Zealand:

@Everyone:

My last update was January 3rd. Since then it came to my attention that there was a bug in the game that messed up the distances ships could travel. For example, my ships could go all the way to Perl Harbor, but not the Phillipines due to this bug. I've just hacked some config files and it appears to work. Since it messed up my game, I will reload to January 2nd and restart my war with the US. Otherwise, I have played until March 2nd until the game became unplayable.

Sorry for reloading, I normally don't do it Smile

Hey VGA, here's a breakdown of my game thus far.

It is the beginning of 1942. I have just declared war upon the United States. My Empire can be broken down as follows:

Screen 1:

Screen 2:

Now let's observe each front.

We begin with the battlefield closest to home: The Far East of the Soviet Union, around Vladivostok:

Vladivostok has fallen to a large Japanese Army, and a Japanese-headed assault is slowly rolling the Soviets back into the Sea of Japan. I am not moving fast on this front because there is very little to conquer; beyond Vladivostok this part of the Soviet Union is a useless Tundra. Still, I'm pushing forward, because some land is better than no land.

Meanwhile, the Soviet border at other points is quiet:

No action, no nothing. Neither side can muster enough forces to rout the other, and again, this land isn't worth dying over.

Meanwhile, in Mongolia:

Chinese troops have pushed hard and annexed all of Mongolia. Now they are resting and moving up to form a solid front with the Soviets. From there on I will advance further into the Soviet Union, since I massively outnumber them on this front. The only problem is that the hostile terrain makes for slow progress.

In the deserts of the Far West, we have a stalemate:

The Soviets have formed a solid front and prevented me from advancing deeper into their Industrial base in Siberia. They've even pushed back a couple of divisions of Chinese troops from the desert wastelands they were holding. Oh well, can't say I'm too perturbed.

Meanwhile, in Northern Pakistan:

I have taken Lahore with a fairly large army, and Peshawar is about to fall. The UK redeployed some divisions to try and establish a front, but truth be told I have the tactical advantage. I can strike and overwhelm them at any point along their front, while the rough terrain prevents them from quickly reinforcing any land I overrun. Against, my biggest limiter in this front is that it is thousands of miles away, and I have so few troops of such little quality allocated to it.

In Northern India, again, a stalemate:

Japanese forces descended from Tibet and annexed Nepal. However, Bhutan still remains free because the terrain prevents me from positioning enough forces to take it. However, I am trying to flank the Brits by sending a division to take a fairly resource-rich province in Northern India. From there I might be able to roll up their flank. But either way it doesn't matter because I have an extremely large army coming in from Burma to conquer India.

Speaking of which:

It's taken the better part of a year to encircle the Allied forces in Burma, but it was worth it. Now I am finally crushing them to the last man. Notice how they are about to lose 4 entire armored divisions. A devastating blow no matter how you look at it. After that they are bound to lose another dozen divisions in Southern Burma, and then the gate to India will be wide open. Only thing holding me back now is the poor morale of my Chinese troops (they refuse to attack) and the bad terrain.

I am thinking about landing a large Japanese task force to spearhead the fight for India. Since the Chinese refuse to fight, I can use my Japanese troops to advance, and use Chinese infantry and meat shields/occupation forces. On the other hand, I've crushed the enemy so thoroughly that I doubt I should bother.

Also note in the above screen that I've deployed a piece of my airforce in Burma. They're raping the exposed enemy ground troops. 'nuff said.

In Southern China, Hainan, I still have 23 Divisions and the bigger part of my air force in reserve. I'm moving the Naval Bombers to the Pacific now to fight the Americans.

In Australia, I've all but overrun the entire country. My marines and special forces are now moving to take the remaining population centers on the far west of the continent:

The invasion of New Zealand begins. I'm reassigning the Carrier Fleet that covered that invasions to the Pacific for war with the USA, and am going to use an aging Battleship Surface Action group to retain Naval Supremacy over that area of the sea:

In the Pacific, war has just broken out. I am not as prepared as I like, but at least I'll have the tactical advantage over the USA as Pearl Harbor leaves them disorganized. The USA have 3 major Naval Bases in the Central Pacific. I knock them out and I'll open the door to the West Coat (Cali baby Very Happy )

I've left arrows detailing in which order I'll take them. I imagine there will be one decisive battle of the war (like Midway in real life) where the full Japanese Navy will fight the full American Navy, and that will decide the rest of the pacific war. This is why I am reassigning my carriers to the Pacific. I want to wipe out the American fleet while it is still weak from Pearl Harbor.

I give the Americans any time to regroup and I am fucked as they simply outproduce me.

And that's that kids. Wish me luck.

VGA asked who my allies are. Here is a list:
Germany
Slovakia
Hungary
Romania
Bulgaria
Croatia
Finland
Italy
Nationalist China (Chinese Mainland)
Manchukuo (Northern China)
Siam (Thailand)
Guangxi Clique (Group of South Chinese warlords)
Yunnan (Southwest China, jungles that produce a shitton of Heroin Very Happy )
Mengukuo (Mongolia)
Xibei San Ma (Group of Muslim Chinese warlords to the far West of China)
Indonesia
Malaysia
Sarawak (small island nation in between Malaysia and Indonesia).

January 17, 1941,

I crushed New Zealand in 2 weeks. Poor kiwis never had a chance after I wiped out their puny Navy:

Australia shall soon follow suit...

Meanwhile, in the Pacific, I have taken Guam and am in the process of taking Wake. Note how the full might of the Japanese Navy is on display Very Happy

The USA have counterattacked and taken Mili. A relatively unimportant Island, but it shows they can get past my Navy and raid my Islands with small forces. I'm dispatching some bombers to tear em a new one before they can dig in:

Soon we move on to Pearl Harbor... after that I can wipe out individual US islands at leisure...

January 21st, the first major Naval Battle of the war begins! Caught an American Surface Action group with their pants down Very Happy

The American fleet is led by Admiral Ghormley aboard the USS Saratoga, an aging Aircraft Carrier. The Saratoga is accompanied by four old Battleships which shouldn't stand a chance:
The USS Oklahoma
USS Tennessee
USS Idaho
USS Mississippi

and a WW1-era destroyer escort screen.

Meanwhile, the Japanese fleet compromises of 11 Aircraft carriers, and equal number of Heavy Cruisers, and more Destroyers you can shake your fist at Very Happy It is led my Admiral Yamamoto.

At 22:00 the two fleets spot each other at a distance of 137 KM. Both sides launch their aircraft and attempt to engage.

At 23:00 the first wave of Japanese bombers strike. The USS Oklahoma and USS Mississippi take some damage, while the USS Tennessee takes very light damage. Meanwhile the American Heavy Cruisers the USS Chicago and USS Augusta take heavy damage and are disabled. They are out of the fight for now. On the Japanese side the IJN Soryu takes very light damage from some American bombers, and a destroyer screen loses a ship or two. The fleets are now at 140 km.

At 00:00 on January 22nd the American fleet has withdrawn. I am in hot pursuit.

8:00 January 22nd,

Admiral Koga has caught Admiral Reeves unawares during a nighttime Strike. The Japanese Fleet is a Carrier Task Force with 5 Aircraft Carriers, of which only 2 are modern. Meanwhile, the American fleet is a Surface Action Group of several fairly old battleships, and escort carrier, and some cruisers:

The American Battleships are:
The USS New Mexico
USS Maryland
USS West Virginia
USS Colorado

The Escort carrier is the USS Independence.

The USS West Virginia has been hit by Japanese Bombers and disabled. The USS Colorado and Independance have both taken some damage. Also, the American Heavy Cruisers USS Chester and USS Macon have been hit and disabled. Meanwhile, on the Japanese side, the IJN Soryu has taken some more damage from an American bomber counterattack. It is still very much in action tho.

Grand Admiral Yamamoto is hurrying from the North to reinforce Admiral Koga who is currently engaged with the Americans.

10:00 January 2nd: The Heavy Cruiser USS Macon has taken some more hits and is listing badly, could be sunk. Meanwhile, Japanese bombers in the dark have mistaken the IJN Soryu for the enemy and accidentally hit it. Man, the Soryu is sure shit on its luck these days.

Both fleets are 148km apart. The only action taking place is with planes since they are outside of firing range. I doubt they will be able to find each other during the night.

12:00 January 2nd: The American Admiral Reeves used the cover of the night to withdraw before he lost anymore ships. Admiral Koga is again in hot pursuit, with Admiral Yamamoto behind him.

4:00 January 23rd. The combined might of the Japanese Navy have caught Admiral Ghormly as he was running away. The initial wave of Japanese bombers crippled his fleet:

The enemy Carrier USS Saratoga has taken heavy damage and is out of the fight. The same can be said for the enemy battleships USS Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Mississippi. The only enemy capital ship to remain in the fight is the USS Idaho. Meanwhile the Japanese fleet has taken no losses.

The fleets are 137 KM apart, so only planes are being used now. With the enemy aircraft carrier disabled, the American fleet is defenseless.

5:00 January 23rd, the enemy Heavy Cruisers USS August and USS Chicago have been hit again and are just one torpedo away from being sunk. Looks pretty bad for the Americans.

7:00 January 23rd, the enemy admiral sacrificed his Carrier (The USS Saratoga) and fled. I am in pursuit of his crippled fleet. I want to finish this :>

6:00 January 24. The combined Imperial fleet of Admirals Koga and Yamamoto have caught up to the American fleet previously led by Admiral Ghormly. I assume Ghormly went down with the USS Saratoga since Admiral Halsey is now in command of the fleet.

The American fleet is doomed. Previously it had lost its only Aircraft Carrier. In the opening round of combat when Japanese bombers spotted them, they lost the Battleships Tennessee and Idaho. The USS Mississippi has taken a direct hit and is about to sink. The same can be said for the Heavy Cruisers USS Chicago, Augusta, Baltimore, and Los Angeles. Those Americans better run Twisted Evil

8:00 And they did get away. Maybe I should stop saying that =/
