Steam is .50 due to using a different build (Steamworks and all that.) or so I would guess, retail editions are at .41 or what it was and Russian version is something other I assume due to being pretty buggy upon release (Had two patches.)

It matters little though since a new patch will be out in a few days to correct further problems from what I read on the GoG forums. Smile
(I've had no issues whatsoever aside from a likely memory leak causing the game to exit without warning or any other message but I think I can solve that.)

But that's just you guessing JB. I'm pretty sure we miss out. Did you see that changelog? How the hell should all this fit in 28mb? Impossible.

MirkoOdora wrote:
Why are you getting so worked up over build numbers? The only change in those exes is probably the DRM itself. Build numbers are usually reserved for minute changes.

Well, because the Russians got 2 patches already. One about 400mb.
So, again. Russian and Steam versions are 1.0.650. Retail and GoG are 1.0.641 .
Now play the common sense and logic thing.

That's what I've read and many people are saying. But I'd like a proper confirmation too.
Maybe JB's guessing is right and the patch which contains the fixes and enhancements from this changelog just isn't out yet. I just can't imagine that those changes came with this tiny 28mb patch.

I own both the Steam edition and the GoG edition due to me missing that I pre-ordered the Steam edition some time ago, files between them can't be compared accurately due to that 9GB main archive containing pretty much everything but they're completely identical in file size (9 924 something million bytes)

Exe would be the only other thing differing but that's also not comparable due to Steamworks and what that adds and the other being fully unprotected.

A preload and then having the game updating shortly after release would have made this easier depending on the amount downloaded to update the game but the Steam version is also the oldest having had the files since the beginning of the month nearly. Smile
(So it's easier it being a much older build initially and then updated compared to GoG or the retail editions which were sent later if I got the release dates and similar correct.)

EDIT: I can't be sure of course but the release day patch is the one with those changes at about 6 to 28 MB depending on localization.
(6 MB for GoG, 20 something for EFIGS and 17 for the PL edition I think it was.)

Hopefully the next update will be ready towards the end of the week and this can all be put behind. Smile

EDIT: Did you kill everyone in the way to the area Sabin and is there enough space to get Aryan up (Perhaps he was pushed around when you walked into him, happens to other NPC's when I bump against them.)

Or, Retail and GoG "and" Steam are missing out. Do you see any differences in the menus or something?

No I see no difference but I'll run a re-validation of the Steam files later today for a better comparison incase something didn't update correctly.
(Poor guys patching via Steam though as it re-downloads modified files, 9 GB for each patch, haha.)

Is it happening in Act 1? If so, there is a lot of people with that issue. No problems in Prologue, but CTDs in Flotsam, Act 1.

Had similar problem in Prologue. Geralt simply didn't attacked anymore, as in like mouse buttons were unresponsive to whatsoever action.

Why not?
It's not replacer archive, but "patcher" that modifies existing files.
For example, it updated pack0.dazip (9.6GB file!).

Well, take a look at this:

http://www.gamer.ru/vedmak-2/bagi-i-patchi

And click on "Спойлер: Полный список исправлений патча 1.0.0.1", quite interesting isn't it?

Now read the entry sponsored by Googletranslator:

This proofs for me that we're missing out. But I think Steam does so too actually.

Russians got 2 patches allready 3. is in the works and yes the 28mb file isnt the patch , it even says "activation patch". The rest of the world still hasnt received this patch (apart from polish version i think) and no word about it from cdp so far.

this is the answer of a gog worker

We included the day 1 patch with our install so you wouldn't need to register the game to play it, since that smacks a bit of DRM. If they've released another patch since yesterday, that's news to me.

I do seem to recall reading in the forums that Steam had something weird about their version which needed adjusting. That may be why they have a different build number.

WRONG! I got the riddle solved. Someone actually recieved an answer to this from Namco-Bandai.

Quote:

Also 1.0.0.x

Anderer Publisher ander Server strukturen.
