This is a bug that happens if you have any daggers/bombs/traps in quickslots just before getting captured in prologue.

After escape, when you get your stuff back, those items that were in quickslot will get lost permanently (while still taking weight in inventory), and any new items of same type will disappear after being bought or crafted (and will also take weight in inventory).

Solution/Workaround: replay the game before getting captured, with those items removed from quickslots.

^Yes, it sucks. I just replayed whole escape sequence and part of chapter 1 to fix this.

After you've placed the desired item in a pocket slot via the inventory menu, you hit 'CTRL' during battle, select it using the mouse and finally press 'R' to use it. Smile

Hold R if you want to aim it properly. Good if you wanna pick a specific enemy off with a throwing dagger.

That's absolutely PATHETIC. I don't give a fuck how "loyal" CDP's fans are, shit like this is just plain unacceptable. What a monumental fuck up.

Skidrows is the retail boxed copy, mentions securom in the readme.txt in the installation folder.

Okay so I've been playing through the initial part of the game and whilst it generally runs alright for me in 1920 as soon as there is some action going on the fps drops down and it really ruins the game experience...

Shame as I thought an i5 750 with 4gb ram and a 5870 should be able to run this game maybe not at max settings but at least smoothly... Doesnt seem to make a difference in terms of settings, tried setting most of them medium / low with aa off and it seems the same pretty much as when I am running almost everything on max bar the ubersettings.

Plus all that bloom crap is horrible, game looks so much better without.

Anyway i stopped playing for now, just dont really enjoy it that much in its present state.. I'm happily trundling through Portal2 (STILL!) when i have a bit of time to play games...

hopefully ati will push some sort of driver update or they will release an update to their game to make it more system friendly (unlikely) Sad

I could not agree more. The state of the game right now is horrible. It's like they don't have fucking Q&A in Poland. Optimization issues, bugs, and not just any bugs, it's game breaking bugs, something you can't just turn a blind eye to.

Don't know how far in you are after the pivot point, but you can just save from just before your capture can't you?

I'm now 15 hours or more into the game and I've encountered only one of the bugs mentioned - the lockup after throwing weapons - happened to me twice. Other than that and some minor optimalisation issues (just lowered the settings a bit and it seems to be working okey) the game works flawlessly. Also I did have a lot of stuff in quickslots before getting captured and I've lost none of it, and neither do any items dissapear from my inventory now - so the bug must be more complicated than that.
