I have little against consoles in general, but the assbox360 and the PileofShit3... ugh.

What about the most important part of the game, the gay romanz, there better be plenty of that, surely this game is not homophobic

But I wonder why Bethesda went with a pot bellied viking for their screenshots and videos. Surely they could have created a character who looked more like a warrior?
1 and 2 are still amazing.

I would rather play with a fat viking that drinks beer, there is a lack of fat heroes in games.

I do believe they're actually 512x512, still thats not terribly impressive, most of the mods I tend to use in gamebryo games replace textures with 2024x2024 equivalents or 4048x4048 in some character cases.
But I suppose it's still awesome what you can do on this "console cycle".
"If you can switch to the armor in Halo, why can't you switch to the dragon in Skyrim?"

Taht's epicly amazingly awesome! As you can see this console cycle is keeping up quite well with PCs, perhaps not as much with memory but everything else.

I know, Bethesda are simply brilliant right!?
I mean even the plot, you must defend the land against the new evil; dragons roaming the land, where do they come from? why have they stayed hidden for so long?
And to do this you must learn their language, so you must gain special powers of dovahkiin and then learn the dragon language by fighting the dragons.
Hey I remember that one game from 2002 called Gothic 2, it was epic as well, it had a nice plot too
| Quote: | | The Nameless Hero is instructed by Xardas on the new danger, an army of evil that has gathered in the mine valley, led by dragons. Xardas sends the Hero to Lord Hagen, leader of the paladins, to retrieve the Eye of Innos, an artifact which makes it possible to speak with the dragons and learn more about their motivation. |
Bethesda, simply brilliant. they're the most original and creative studio out there! bar none!

Cool to see Todd being honest about the dungeons at least (that half of them won't be very big), most devs would have left that out.
and meh, did they have to show my fugly morrowind shrooms..

He was being very honest about it all I thought, not so much glorifying it. He also made clear what the current consoles could handle and they were the 'limiting' factor, though thats not what he called it, for the final product.

There will be dragons.. many dragons.. unlimited dragons!
| Quote: | “There is an unlimited number of dragons. One of our designers actually put in a random event I encountered, where I ended up being chased by three dragons and I thought “who the hell did this?”
“I felt like Frodo in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. So I asked him to remove it. But no, dragons are generated automatically (in addition to that there are a number of specific encounters, of course).”
Howard also explains a bit about why the team waited so long to bring dragons to the Elder Scrolls series. “For one thing, we think that it is a bit cliché,” he says, “we have never seen a game dealing with dragons as Jurassic Park handles dinosaurs. We wanted to do it properly.”
But why can’t we talk to the dragons? Howard hints that in fact we might be able to, saying that “All dragons speak, it’s actually what they do when they are spouting fire.” adding that “there are some dragons who speak the “common tongue” and make themselves understood to people.” |

Lol, I can imagine the shitty autolevelling. At first you get ambushed in the roads by filthy bandits, after you're level 20 you get superpimped bandits with diamond armor, at level 30 you get dragons.

If there weren't an infinite amount to slay, how else would you consistently experience the awesomeness?
I hope they don't have scripted areas where they can land. They also better be able to be killed mid flight or when they're trying to land, none of that scripted shit, I want to see it fall and fucking crush people and other random stuff. |
I think you're expecting too much, hope I'm wrong though.

Looks like dragons are going to be like Oblivion Gates in Oblivion. I remember an interview on GT where they said you'll get dragon powers by learning their language (i.e. defeating them).
