Actually, I don't think anyone said that in this thread.
It's just that "drm-free" rhetoric is sometimes used as marketing tactics, including cases were it's not really 100% true. And those cases should be pointed out.

So from the preorder DLC only two are missing, right? The Finishers pack and the Swordsmanship Suit.

There's no DRM on the GOG version of The Witcher 2. Crying some more won't magically make DRM appear.

Pirates will always find an excuse to justify piracy. Oh and yes, you can just share your DLC with friends -- you need the DZIP and, possibly, the .DLC files - simply put them in CookedPC and away you go.
Nice try.
|
I don't get why he's even trying to find an excuse?! If he want's to pirate it, he should just do it and be honest.
When I pirate something, I don't want to pay for it. I stand by it and don't even try to pretend otherwise by searching for an lame excuse that's suite me best. |
If that were the case, I wouldn't even comment on it. It's just that The Witcher 1 is the only game I feel bad about for pirating it, and I was actually planning on buying TW2 if I liked it. Cause I consider buying a game my stamp of approval - I vote with my money so to say. I buy on principle. |
Just buy the game then. Buy it on GoG to get an DRM'less version or buy the retail, play it, keep it if you like it or revoke your activation and sell it again.
Or just pirate it, man up and stand by it.
If you feel bad about something, just don't do it.
It's always best to trust your guts and heart. If you're doing something bad, you should be ready to face the consquences "if" they show up and bite you in the arse.
At least that's how I roll with my life and situations.

Not the game, the dlc packs. I thought we got over that.
P.S.
As I side note, Dragon Age: Origins was DRM-less too (excluding the DLCs).

It was the simplest DVD check (GetDriveType function in Windows). You could play it with the plain ISO image mounted or with burned DVD.

:O The plot is starting to feel rushed. ACT 2
Spoiler: | The Nilfgaardians took Triss. Ok now we don't have her rose for the antidote. Oh wait no they somehow forgot it and Philippa who didn't even go into the camp has it. What?! Seriously. +many more minor things. |
Oh wait stupid russian translation failed me again - i replayed the bit in English and now it makes more sense. The russian version didn't even mention Cynthia, lol.

Strange.. because my copy requires the crack to play. Well, older copy - I've long since had it legitimate.

I just hope they give us some kind of storage chest. It boggles me why they didn't put one in.

They are adding storage in one of the patches. It might even be the one coming early next week.
Edit: Although, I do wonder, WHY did they not add the storage at first place? I swear to God this game had ZERO Q&A testing. Like none.

It wasn't very useful in the first game (though I put all the books I gathered once and read them when I felt like I need a break from all the questing, fighting and all that), but this game just screams for a thing like that. I really don't know what were they thinking. I will play with that mod if there really isn't any other way. I like the way Gothic games manage inventory more anyway, used to even collect the more interesting weapons, armors and what not if I didn't need money in those games.

I don't think you can, though I didn't play much yet. I do see some occasional blue and green dots on teh minimap, I have no idea what those are, might be the quest givers. Maybe I should read the manual.
Damn JB, 25 hours in act1 alone? I hope I can pull those kinda hours, this should never end.

There is some seriously irritating crap about this. I had a soldier drop a bag.. one that I think has a random key in it.. as there are no other soldiers and a couple locked doors I could pop through, but I can't "target" it to pick it up because it's near a torch, and the auto-targetting always locks onto the damn torch.

It comes and goes, that's what confuses me. SHouldn't an ally following me be on the minimap constantly?
I agree that targeting items sucks balls sometimes.
