I know...FLAME AWAY...but I just want a trainer that works. I tried the various ones on gamecopyworld...but none seem to work.

Anyone have one that works?

Found my problem and it seems to be that the savegames are connected to my authentication. I reinstalled and it worked again. Anyone know how to use the gog exe on retail? If you didnt read i couldn't load my savegames after i replaced my witcher2.exe and paul.dll files.

I think the best armour is the Draug Armour that you can buy in Act 2. At least i haven't seen anything with better stats. There were mentions of a Vran armour in the Mysterious River quest but i haven't found it Sad The best steel sword is probably the Manuscript quest schematic from Act 3 and the Zerrikanian silver sword.

I started playing with the skidrow release, changed to my retail and now i'm using the gog exe, and the savegames always worked, probably 'cause the skidrow version didn't lock them. Maybe check regedit ? Wish i could help you :/

I use GOG .exe on retail and had no problems with savegames (started on retail .exe). Weird.

Is it me or does the wet surfaces rain effect, motion blur and Depth of Field gameplay effect make the game less impressive. I feel a constant need to clean my glasses with these on.

Especially the DoF effect makes little sense to me. In cutscenes, yes it's a cool cinematic effect (and luckily it's a seperate setting), but in gameplay I'm looking ahead 9 times out of 10, not at my character, looking at intentionally unfocussed models...

The wet surfaces effect just blurs your textures (while giving me motio sickness if I stare at em too long Wink)

I like the cinematic feel though as you say the post-process effects can at times feel overdone, I'm not certain this is a valid point but also with these new eastern-European studios there seems to be a trend to use super-sharp high res (Not usually a issue.) textures sometimes even sharpened further (This is a issue.) which causes this shimmering and aliased (Not jagged edges as anti-aliasing.) visuals and paired with blur, bloom/hdr and dof it looks a bit messy.
(I'm not saying the game looks bad though, sure it might not have the top of the line visuals and fancy post-process stuff via DX11 or whatever but you can't really say it looks ugly either, SSAA/Ubersampling is a bit of a weird inclusion though but for those who can use it most of what I wrote above should be somewhat rectified due to how SSAA sort-of brute forces the current rendered frame via upscaling and downsampling plus shaders, textures and models all in all, crazy performance hit though as expected, haha.)

EDIT: In what I mean with the textures over-sharpness sort of a few examples might be Stalker, Necrovision, Ubersoldier, Mortyr, Metro, Painkiller and likely others.
(Some like it but I'm not fond of over-sharpening the textures like that via more artificial means, particularly with high AF forced it becomes a bit extreme.)

(Will gladly take it over 256x256 and 512x512 low-res super compressed DDS textures of course.)

This game sucks, it does not deliver. With all the sex talk before release, I saw only ONE set of bewbs. What a fail. Where are my bewbs!?

How do I advance the dice poker line? I got no quest info so I have no idea who I have to beat before I can play the guys that refuse me.

With the brother down there with all other gambling perhaps they should have had a sex mini-game and competition as well, start with the less popular and demanding women and make (Well mount.) your way up and finally bed the madam herself for a nice reward or some such. Very Happy
(Well OK so she isn't exactly attractive.)

Finished it. Didn't feel short apart from the last chapter which did seem a bit rushed and underwhelming. They should have made at least a montage recaping all the choices you made and how they influenced the world. Now to replay the game with all DLCs on Insane taking Roche's path this time.

Also they dump all the best equipment on you right in the end and you don't really get to use it - there is basically one scripted fight and one optional fight after you craft Caerme and Elder Blood armour parts.

I noticed the same. There is an aliased look around the details of geralt's gear. There is an option in the ini called "sharpen" but I don't think that changes much.

Just got to Act 3 on second playthrough. Did many things differently, the game really does have consequences for many choices, as many things changed drastically.

I can't wait for an expansion or sequel.

OK apparently i missed some optional boss that drops the Vran armour schematic in Act 3. There is supposed to be a wrait guard that asks for a password. Anyone got to him?

Mutagens are nothing special really, they give very minor bonuses. Best one is the Strength one with Armour and Health Regen, but even then its a tiny bonus.

Since you brought the mutagens up, how can I understand which abilities I can use them on? I've noticed some abilities have tiny darkened circles on them. Are these an indication I can apply mutagens to them?
