Interesting, I guess she's used to it though. (I was with Shani in W1 for this current import were I aided the Scoia'Tel plus I "collected" cards wherever possible, haha.)
EDIT: Updated that modification in my last post, no longer includes other stuff and added a tower choice.

Spoiler: | Triss is something of a realist, I doubt she would care too much about Geralt screwing around on the side. In the novels the only character Geralt has ever been loyal to is Yennefer iirc |

Haha I think I'll just let it be, also I just uploaded the third version which removes even more clutter I had there, now only 750 KB and only includes the modifies files.
(As said though all choices are disabled as the folder are renamed so the only active thing at first is the no-intro attempt albeit the folders can be renamed as suited.)

I can't choose between Spoiler: | Vernon and Iorveth | . I dislike them both equally. Any ideas on who is more "right" to choose? Who is less despicable? Spoiler: | Vernon | tortured and killed innocents for a tyrant. Spoiler: | Iorveth | probably doesnt mind killing innocent humans either. Neither of them are that great/cool a character. Which path will yield me the most interesting aftermath (ie the rest of the game?).

Well fuck me dearly, I finally managed to get it running. The solution? Very large texture size with no compression. Not large, but very large. Awesome QA right there - not my CCC settings, not a bad driver, but a fucked up option which just doesn't make sense at all.

Spoiler: | Both characters have hidden qualities. Its also hard to say which path is better, I personally enjoyed the town in Ioverths act 2 slightly more, however I found the main quest of Vernons Act 2 more interesting. I think supporting Ioverth leads to an overall "better" conclusion (if such can exist) |

Like with the first game, both sides are a bunch of dicks. It really boils down to whether you agree with their methods or not. There's no cliche bastards and victim here.

Both sides have "bad" methods.
And actually, the scoia'tel ARE the victims. But still their goals and methods suck. Just like Vernon.
I guess I'll just choose who makes the most practical sense? But in that case there is not much of a clear choice either. Both have good reason to be able to track down who needs to be tracked down.

Mind Control someone.
Use Aard to push them back. Sometime you can stun them and it leads to an instant-kill.
Use Samum, a bomb that can you craft through the alchemy screen (when meditating, press Ctrl) to stun them. Stunning them makes it easy to mind-control one.
Use Quen (or w/e is the real name) to get a shield to protect. Warning : using it stops vigor from regenerating.
Use Parry (requires vigor) to avoid getting hit.
Once you get use to the combat system playing it a second time on hard is actually easier than playing it the first time on normal.

You're not really supporting Ioverth, you're supporting Saskia to form a place where everyone is equal.
But this game hates happy endings and will screw you whenever you come close to a victory, so just go with whatever you prefer.
(No seriously, cutscenes are you biggest enemy. Whenever you finish saving the world a cutscene appears and destroys everything you hold dear.)

I agree, Bioware's methodology is much better. In their games you know who to kill and who to protect. This game is too confusing | Real life is not black and white, it's full of confusion and hard choices, bad guys don't wear mustaches and black hats.

About Iorveth/Roche
Spoiler: | I think Iorveth's Path leads to a better conclusion - especially if you dispell Saskia's mind control. In this case at least the Pontar Valley becomes a trully free state. Plus there is a chance of all the Northern Kindoms uniting under Saskia's leadership to fight Nilfgaard eventually since she is such a great commander and has additional qualities that make her good in battle. (won't spoil it) |
About poker - you can't really ignore it - in Act 1 you need to beat everyone to get the troll's head.

I am stuck at a stealthing part in act2 "where is triss merigold."
Spoiler: | I picked the side of the elves. I need to stealth through the human camp in act 2 to complete the quest "where is triss merigold".
But I can't perform stealth kills and I can't get passed the cook by the burned out fire. He says "please don't kill me" when I get near and then the guards come.
Any ideas?

The NPC's models are in /characters/ but some of them are different as extension .xbm, I doubt they'll will work same as .w2ent, haven't tried yet anyway.
Edit: Imo, dunno why I think those are textures .xbm
Edit: Yea, textures.

Report from second playthrough:
Choices have yet to have any serious consequences, my decision to kill the baron La Valette hasn't been mentioned since Act I, and my previous alliance (in The Witcher 1) has not affected my relation with the Scoia'tel in this part. Iorveth has no additional dialogue option and my starting position is unaffected, in spite of trying to save Iorveth.
It might be that the "multiple choices, and dire consequences" are but a ruse, gentlemen.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.
