So how does it compare to the first one? I must say I really enjoyed that one.
Maybe I'll play this after I finish The Witcher (the first one).

The first Fable was really weak, especially how it was so extremely on-rail and there was no way to explore for example a forest, you were stuck on the path leading through it. The second one was a much better game in every aspect imo. Is this one similar to Fable2? Bigger or smaller (world size, quests etc)?

Wow, that must be some of the most retarded design choices i've ever seen for a game.

It's basically Fable 2 but with a much more "accessible" focus on it and a number of weird decisions and implementations, I enjoyed it but I would likely have enjoyed Fable 2 much more (Though it'll never be ported over as from the article posted earlier they're - Lionhead/MS - are doing something else, maybe Fable 4 or Black & White 3 or who knows.)

Maybe Molyneux has some degenerative brain disease so he must make each game simpler and simpler to be able to play them himself.
@hfric: Lowering the shadows did the trick for me, at least.

It's just a common collateral damage derived from playing console games for a long time

This game is bugged, my dog is limping around with no way to heal him.

You need dog biscuits (you can buy them from vendors or find them in chests) When the dog is limping around, face him and the context option for feeding him a dog biscuit (looks like a bone) will show up.

I can only compare against Fable 1 TLC but in that regard there's very little character upgrade possibilities (Aside from using sword, gun and magic gloves on x number of enemies for some small buffs.) scars and tattoos and other customization are of little concern and armor doesn't really exist, neither does health, manna and ammunition though.
(Character doesn't age or morph much at all either.)
Interactions are nearly automated (Can't choose your own expression, there's less of them and quest NPC's you just stand nearby.) and normal NPC are only really useful for those social actions (Or killing if some weapon reward wants that to unlock.)
(Even shopkeepers are mostly useless as items are pedestaled now, property owning is expanded upon however but with little use aside from managing detoriation of house quality if rented out or setting store picing levels, also minimally affect alignment.)
Little difference between equipment too minus the basis of sword, hammer, pistol and rifle though some rarer equipment stands out with better stats (.48 dragonstomper for example, curious how the DLC equipment is the best available however.)
Environments are more open though as is variation and exploration but it's very simple and stuff is pointed out or hand-held to be very basic, little consequence or choice of actions too aside from the last couple of decisions.
(Alignment does little too from what I've noticed, some "ultimate" expressions and certain finisher moves plus the glowing rune stuff for visual effects.)
I like it for the exploration possible anyway and I'll finish off the remaining quests but it could have been better if it was less shallow and simplified I suppose.
(The silly humor is a trademark and over the top stuff is as well but it's turned to be more stupid in Fable 3 or how to call it.)
(And yet I still play it and am trying to finish off the remaining tasks that can be done, weird but a simple title can be enjoyable at times, I know I'll enjoy Duke4 for example though I suppose the comparison is a bit unfair.)
(Not many other titles allow permanent STD problems - though it's kinda forced and you'll get one eventually if you keep trying for children - can also interact a lot with other players though I haven't done anything like that.)
EDIT: Not that descriptive perhaps and a rather weird stance to just point out flaws like this I suppose but in comparison there's been a lot of more radical changes and little is for the better this time around.
(The game engine and X-Box to X-Box 360 meant it's more open and such though.)

compared to FABLE 2.... part 3 is crap
how crap you ask go see this video
http://angryjoeshow.com/2011/01/top-reasons-fable-iii/ | This game makes me wanna throw up, those are some awfully, disgusting design choices, like the people that made the game didn't play a single game in their miserable lives.

I would enjoy this game if it weren't for the random stuttering bullshit. It plays fine for about 10 minutes then stutter/fps drops randomly occur. Switching resolution fixes it for a couple minutes and then happens again. Fuck. I tried turning of shadows and messing with the config file but nothing. Bah.

Everytime I've tried to install the game, I get an error on media5.cab and can't continue. I've tried a few different versions out there so far and no luck. Tried on two diff machines as well. Not sure what's going on.

It's tied through your GFWL account. And since you would need to have purchased Fable III, it won't show up in your game without a key linked to it.
