I'm continuing the discussion of solving the problem with Forza motorsport and the black screen problem here. The game will not boot, only a black screen appears and i can't do anything after that besides rebooting/power off. I have a 1.6 PAL Xbox with SmartXX chip, and the latest bios from their website. The things i've tried and that works for some: 1: Download the NeodashX from xbins and run the game from that dashboard. 2. Tried to boot from HDD, DVD-r and DVD-RW 3. Tried with TSR and IGR on/off 4. Tried different game regions: Auto, Default, Europe, NA and Asia. 5. Tried to launch from Evox, Avalaunch, Xcommander, NeodashX, UnleashX 6. I tried NTSC, PAL50 and PAL60 video modes also I tried all different combinations with settings/dashboards and applications. I'm also running out of ideas, so if anyone found a good solution besides the ones i described i would be happy to try them out I'm beginning to think that there are som flaws in the release or my chip, but still other people have played this game with a identical Xbox with a SmartXX. Only difference from any other option is when i run in PAL mode and NeodashX, and the screen flickers and seems to change to PAL60 but that's it, the black screen is still there.

set the time and date for the xbox .. use the msdash or any dash that lets you change it... then delete any files in e:\cache and any gamesave files you can find. then reboot the xbox, check date and time are correct ..check igr in evox off .. play game edit .. heard somewhere else some people with problems got it running by toggling the language in the msdash setting .. switch it something else then back to english to get it to save

OMG dude

The language swap worked, i tried the cache earlier so that didn't have much effect.
I only changed language then rebooted and changed it back then the game booted.
That's the most non logical solution ever, but it worked, hope this help for all the rest too, thanks again man Smile

lol... your right it makes no sense .. but 3 people in the same thread all said it worked where everything else failed so i thought i'd run it by you I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????
