And the 1.1 patch will probably fail because the 0-day patch has been updated to include the 1.1 patch. If you happen to stumble across the old version of the 0-day patch however, you will need to install the 1.1 patch additionally afterwards.
Both 0-day patches are called the same, the old one that updates the game to 1.0 (ridiculous, I know) is 28,0 MB while the new one (that updates to 1.1) is 28,8 MB.
You shouldn't need to worry about anything though, after installation the game will automatically download the most recent patch. When prompted for a CD key, type anything, really. The activation server ignores it and gives you access to the latest patch.

In my opinion, chapter 3 includes several quests with very enjoyable battle encounters. For example, at one point, when you need to make a choice, in Roche path, both sections that follow after seem done very well.
Things like that compensate for relatively short length of that chapter.
Also, it really pays off to replay parts of chapter 3 differently to see different outcomes at the end of the chapter and in epilogue. And due to short nature of chapter 3, doing that is not hassle.

It felt the same in TW1 after Lakeside. More fights, finish your powerful items, rush through the plot and end it.
TW1 has more content in 1 run but you can't realistically expect a game with multiple paths to have the same length per path.

I just read the instruction from the Skidrow nfo. It would be easiest for you if you don't exit the activation (unlike Skidrow says) since CDPR has set the activation server to "DRM free mode". You can enter ANY text you want as cd key, the server will accept it, activate your game and automatically install the latest patch for you.

Am I missing something or has ch3 one sidequests? The gargoyle contract. The only other thing I can do is go to Philippa.

On that note, how do you solve the quest in chapter 3
Spoiler: | encrypted manuscript? I talked to the mage on market square and he gave me some hints, but the words on the parchment are all different from what you can say to the guardian. I can look up the correct order online but I'd rather figure it out myself, just need some pointers. |

Rage mode
Stupidity of some is amazing in here. I mean the use of spoiler tags. It would be fucking amazing if some of you would point as to what the spoiler contains, IE. "spoiler regarding end of act 2", instead of shit like "I have a question about". Stop making spoilers into kinder surprises

The end left a very bad aftertaste in my mouth, clearly a rushjob. All of a sudden you're dropped in a city wih a bunch of locked doors, a couple of uber items are thrown at you and the conclusion is plain ridiculous. How can you end such a brilliant game in such a way? I felt like I got a summary of the end in chapter three and the epilogue. It's like you're chilling on a river, enjoying the great weather and catching fish three meters long thinking about how you're gonna bake those fuckers, and then all of a sudden a storm of shit comes ate you and you're stuck in a stream of swirling shitwater. The end is also left wide open, I was left with a big WTF!? in the end. What is this, Witcher 2 episode 1?
What a shame to end brilliance in meh. I'll replay the game several times, I'm sure of that, but I'll probably stop when I reach chapter 3. Maybe I'll write a review if someone cares, but I'll give it a score now. Chapters 1+2 are as good as gaming gets, the attention to detail is amazing. It's easily worth a 9.5/10. Overall though, the game gets a 8/10 for the fuckup at the end. I also had shit performance and weird technical things in chapter 3.

I doubt it, they obviously ran out of funds/time. I'd rather had a shorter chapter 1+2 and a proper end. I do hope this game sells like crazy so they can up their bodycount and invest more time in Witcher 3.

Hopefully. Though, Dragon Age 2 ending also left me with more questions than answers and it felt not really satisfying.
Edit: Oh and I'm just about to reach Chapter 3 on Witcher 2, so I can't really tell about it or the ending. But so far, the game was brilliant.

Just finished also, and Mister_s said, imo the finish could be better, I was like "wait, that's all? " Chapter 3 was indeed pretty short, and Epilogue well just walk in park, but after all game was great, and prolly will replay soon since I'm curious about the other choices...at many crucial choices i was sitting and "Ok, what the hell I should choose"

ehum, if you reinstall the international game (on 2 dvds) do you have to apply the 1.1 patch manually or is it part of the activation patch? I have an option button on the launcher, was something else before patch 1.1 right?
yeah it installs the 1.1 patch also...

Finished it today too. But I like the ending. The ending is quite similar in taste to ending of the first book in the saga "Blood of Elves" when Thanned incident happened. It clearly shows how shit hits the fan with all those conspiracies. Yes it could've been longer but on the other hand shit hitting the fan is fast!

I beat it for a second time and Act 3 felt longer going with Roache's path. There's a scene with Roache and Dethmold that is pretty fucking bad ass.

Sorry missed the part with the first patch. Is it safe to patch the skidrow + gog exe/dll version?
Any benefits?

Total removal of DRM and a few bugfixes, no huge performance gain for you though.

Personally I didn't feel that much dissapointed by the ending. Could've been longer, I suppose, but then again, it was just a conclusion to everything that happened through previous chapters, and it was pretty intense. My main gripe with it is that there are too few side-quests and the area is a little bit too small. Other than that, when it comes to the actual story, it seemed quite fine. A lot may also depend on both your previous choices and current ones, because, unlike other games, in Witcher 2 time doesn't wait for the protagonist. When you decide to go one place, you need to be prepared that important stuff will actually happen without you. This may lead to some dissapointment (like "hey, I wanted to kill that guy myself!"), but is actually pretty realistic.
Most of my questions were answered, too, and I felt the actual storyline to be pretty much complete. The questions I was left with were more about what I felt to be the background, but I won't go into details. Suffice to say, it's safe to asume an expansion pack could be based upon some of this stuff, but it doesn't have much to do with the power struggle and king assassinations that form the basic storyline in TW2.
As for the epilogue - to be honest, I think it was meant more as a clarification. You can actually figure out most of the stuff you learn there before, while playing the game. Those who didn't quite get all the details, however, can just ask the questions and end the game without being left in the dark.
