That tazering was totally uncalled for...
His arms slipped while being put behind his back and the cops immediately took this as a sign of resisting and just popped back and tazered the shit out of him. Not cool, not cool at all.
Well, they patted him down beforehand, then also the fact that he was lying down on the ground, I don't really see how he could have pulled out a weapon of any sort (unless it was out of his ass or he punched a hole in the ground where he hid a weapon 15 years earlier).
That was overreacting, plain and simple.
Yes, but something people seem to forget on here often is that these decisions have to be made then, in that split second. The cops don't have the option to call a time out and review a replay of the situation.
In the end, none of this would have happened to the dude had he been cooperative in the first place. The announcer of whatever UK TV show that is might try to make you think different, but anyone with half a brain can see that his body language and actions indicated otherwise.
Civilians, especially one's with half a brain, question things when to them it seems to be off to them. Cops (and military personnel) seem to forget that civilians aren't prone to just do as they're told without questioning it, because we don't follow any type of rank (except at work and then it's totally different).
And as you can see there were a bunch of cops at the end, meaning that one of the two first cops called for back-up meaning they were getting mentally prepared for some sort aggressive behavior from the "suspect", so basically they had plenty of time to judge the situation and did so beforehand (the actual tazering).
Guilty until proven innocent seems to be the new motto for the popo.
