WTF! Liu Kang was easy. If you're far enough all shao does is go IM BETTER THAN YOU! and you do a flying kick and you can kick his ass. Now he throws 4 -5 spears, a hammer that makes your head go all wobbly... and he just walks up to you and slams you.

I've just finished the story mode! I beat that fucker Shao Kahn in 15 minutes. Well... maybe 20  . The trick is to have Raiden teleport himself over and over. Shao Kahn will usually be doing some dumb move while you appear behind his back. Then uppercut the bitch. Fire a lightning bolt just as he's getting up for some free damage. Or an enhanced lightning bolt if possible.
Instead of the uppercut you can do the spark kicks kombo for even more damage. That's A, A, B. Move a little closer before doing the kombo, or the last kick may not connect. So just fight like a cheap whore and you'll win eventually.

You can just let the computer beat you multiple times. Each retry the CPU gets easier but you have to let him finish you. Can't just pause & retry in the middle of the match or the difficulty resets back to normal.

Fuck the Krypt, where you have to unlock the kollectibles. You need to walk up to each and every tombstone. 500 of them or so

still, all those outfits & fatalities are on the disc so $5 just to unlock them is lame. especially since ed boon had said they would not charge for on-disc DLC. Also, it's just 2 different outfits with different colors.
but i'll still be buying it cause i'm a sucker.

Exactly. I'm surprised nobody has called him out on his bullshit, to be honest. That little fact seems to have slipped by the media... the two-faced rat said the DLC isn't on the disk, yet it's patently right there, unlockable with a simple CFG edit. No doubt he was relying on people not figuring that out.
Though, to be completely fair and technical, he did say "DLC characters. Skins + fatalities aren't technically new characters.

Ok, I finally started playing Story Mode (yes, yes, I know... welcome to the 21st Century, Sabin) and HOLYFUCKINGSHIT!!!!! Street What? TekWhat? Soul What? Fuck all that pretender bullshit once and for all .... NOTHING has ANYTHING on Mortal Kombat. I started playing almost 9 hours ago and I'm STILL playing ^_^ Only just got to Stryker's chapter, which is another thing I love about MK's story mode; not only is everything fully voiced, but you get to play as most every character too -- each with their own part to play in the grand story.
Absolutely loving the hell out of this. Worth every penny ^_^ I'm not sure if you have to fight Shao Kahn again at the end, but his first appearance (after Kintaro, who was epic) was a cheap sonofabitch, but he went down after three tries. The voice work is awesome, the character and background visuals are sublime, the combat is smooth and responsive and polished to a motherfucking T! My only complaint is the jarring switch between prerendered cutscenes and actual in-game assets. Considering I'm playing the PS3 version, you'd have thought Netherrealm would at least USE the BluRay.

They don't dont?! ...the fuck's all that bluray space going at?!
IMO that's one of the flaws of the x360 version; was thinking the ps3 would benefit here from all that bluray goodness, especially since it's one of those "it plays best on ps3" titles...

Gotta say I didn't think they'd pull it off at first, wast thinking "here's another MK that's gonna die in obscurity somewhere on my shelf after 1 week", witch is not the case at all. Really good game and, like you said, the best remake of this generation!

The Johnny Cage story is hilarious. Sonia doesn't want to go out with him, so he'll x-ray the shit out of her and beat her to a pulp to impress her...
But yeah, if they were to make a MK move out of this story, they wouldn't go wrong. |

DLC stuff... pity I won't be getting that! Hacked X360, I've played patched games, don't want to void the warranty.
And Sabin: I haven't noticed anything about a jarring switch between pre-rendered scenes and real time play. Absolutely nothing, I've never seen anything like that. Apparently the game loads while the video plays. I'm playing on an Xbox 360, I guess it's not the same as PS3.
