Gamestop lists GTA V, 2012 release mentioned
Gamestop Germany has put up a Grand Theft Auto V listing for pre-order, marking it for an January 15, 2012 release.
There’s a description, too. It doesn’t sound very conclusive, especially when run through a machine translator:
“Rock Star is now the first official information about GTA V coughed up! In an interview with the Times, said Dan Houser, that even on the fifth GTA is in progress. But before the characters are created, developers look after the the city, the whole play is in the. Houser is co-author of the screenplay for the story line be, the sites will comprise about 1000.”
Potential GTA V domains were unearthed last month, and a casting call was put up by Take Two and Rockstar recently, trying to find actors for something called “Rush”.
GTA V is expected to be announced at E3 in June.

Well that's nice. I just assumed rockstar isn't porting any of their games to PC now. Why the fuck wont they port Red Dead and LA Noire then?

GTA, Max Payne were PC franchises.. so far all publishers that make sequels to PC franchises, they release them on the PC as well, even if they are delayed.
Same for Rockstar, we'll get our GTA 5 and we'll get our Max Payne 3 but Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire are new franchises created for consoles, and meant to stay there it seems..

GTA is too big of a franchise not to release on PC. Besides, I think GTA IV sold pretty well on PC, considering they released The Lost and Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony while they could just stick to the X360 and PS3 for that.
Also believe it or not, the PC version was actually really worked on, we had a new radio station (user track, but with a commentary from a DJ) and a video editor. Plus around 7 patches I think?

And after the fourth patch, the game works pretty well (not as well as it should, but way better then in version 1.0). Also patch 1.07 fixed those hideously looking pointy shadows (that is, made them look like in Episodes from Liberty City), so GTA 4 is now a fine game (finally).

I completely disagree.
This game has to be one of the most utterly consolized bullshit has ever been released for PCs. I see it at a major offense directed towards PC gamers. I had quite some chances to buy it at a discount (Steam included with some 14 Euro offer at some point). But I won't pay even a dime for this game, as I DON'T want it.
Sure, it's MY opinion, so no flame please.  I won't change my mind. That's why I don't even WANT GTA V to be on PC, as I expect again a major screw-up from Rockstar's part (the GTA IV and RDR stories are showing that they don't give a crap about PC gamers/users and that all that matter is $$$). |

Saints Row 2 is broken as fuck. Also, I don't want the story to be the best thing in games like this, I actually don't really care about the story in games like this, they should be only fun and they simply aren't anymore. Maybe it's something with me getting older, but GTA-style games made in these days are just boring as hell.

Aye, TBoGT is an entirely different game. Still, as far as 'fun' goes, it's what you make of it; isn't that the whole point? TBoGT has a lot of amusing minigames though, but I'm not sure what would make SA better. SA had a shit setting, VC was much better
I've always found the GTA games amusing enough, 4 being no exception. It ran worse than it should, had nothing to do with "upgrading" - on the PC a game should be using the GPU properly, and GTA4 simply doesn't. Too much is offloaded to the CPU.
