Gameplay wise I would say 4. The controls and porting was shit in 3. If they ever make a remake that would probably change my mind...

Only played DMC 4 of the series, and I agree that it was ok - not groundbreaking, but still reasonably fun to play. Glad to see they're not making the next installment console only.

It's not a reboot. Capcom said that is going to be an origin story... So, to complicate things, it will be a prequel to DMC 3

It's more of a retcon IMO; changing and expanding on some established things, but still taking place in the same universe.

IMO the DMC series is a cheesy emo console crap, suitable mostly for teenagers. I found Darksiders to be much more enjoyable for an older person, so I advise you to play IT instead, if you didn't. Just a friendly warning.

I strongly support Jan's advice (never was and never will be a fan of the DMC series for the very same reasons; and the same thing applies to jrpgs for me). |
