Just finished it on medium, WHAT AN AWESOME GAME !! except maybe to easy thanks to quen spam.. but what mattered the most for me is that it made me care.. care about Geralt, Iorveth, Triss, Saskia, even for Letho... Saskia speech before the battle send shivers down my spine and that alone is a huge accomplishment for a game..

You should have played on hard, it's the right and only difficulty to chose for the first playthrough in my opinion. Agreed on the other things!

Can't say I appreciate all the console shit so far they should have went pc all the way then do a port but still a great game so far.
Black bars are annoying as hell, I payed A LOT of money for my 16:10 pc monitor(MultiSync 20WGX^2) a few years ago, actually the price was the same as my big plasma TV, even console ports offer a 16:10 rez but not this game for some reason.
I actually read somewhere that Witcher 1 had problems with 16:10 can't say I noticed.

Hm, after installing patch 1.2 I've an annoying problem with quick-save. Lots of times when I hit the qs button (default F5), the game crashes to desktop. No warning, no window pop, no error report, no nothing. Just game closes to desktop.
Reinstalled the game, updated correctly via the launcher, same issue.
Playing on WinXP x86 as it runs significantly better than Win7 (which lags now for me). Using latest official nVidia WHQL drivers 275.33.
Any ideas, input, anyone had similar troubles?

guess what? I just reinstalled the whole thing and applied the patch before the SKIDROW crack, and I still get the same error.
if u got nothing productive to say then keep your sewer hole shut.

no its dlc files.. remove all dlc files , 1.1 wont install with dlcs, 1.2 wont install with dlcs ( atleast cracked ones ) , and 1.2 already contain all dlcs

I am confused now, the gog files suppose to remove the copy protection yet it doesn't work until u crack the game with SKIDROW patcher and use SKIDROW puel.dll . also after playing around with the lunchers and patches and other shit I dont even have the witcher ico anymore.
can someone plz give me a step by step on how to install the game and apply patches.

no idiot it does not help, u have to use the SKIDROW crack first before the patch other wise u get the error I mentioned above.

don't enter a key the first time. Use efigs to update with the 0day patch, then exit out of the activation screen, then install 1.1 and enter any key at the activation screen. Then 1.2.
That's how I did it.
If you try to enter any key after the efigs patch, you need to remember that it's still copy protected and looking for proper activation. It wasn't until 1.1 that the DRM was disabled.

I was using the crafting weight mod (kind of a hoarder hehe) and after the 1.2 patch, it doesn't seem to be working any longer. Is it because they moved where mods are supposed to take effect? If so, where should I move the mod file?
It's currently in \The Witcher 2\CookedPC\items.
Or is it because the author needs to update it? Thanks.

Try resaving the file so it's newer than data0.pak perhaps?
(Worth a try if it goes by file date if it was updated by the patch.)

Anyone? 
Still trying to figure out why performance is worse on Win7. No idea also if SP1 (not installed yet) might have an impact on this, or if there's anything else hampering the FPS and adding lag in game. |

I dunno why you guys are having issues patching and activating the game since all patches are available and all DRM is removed....

^Patch in section 2 patches game from bare install to 1.1, while other in section 1 patches game from 0-day to 1.1.
Patch that just applies 0-day can only be found now inside skidrow release now.
So you can either do (after bare install):
-use patch from section 2 at the site (called Patcher_EFIGS.exe)
-then patch to 1.2
or:
-use patch from skidrow release (also called Patcher_EFIGS.exe)
-then patch from section 1 at the site (Patcher_1.1_International.exe)
-then patch to 1.2
