Doesn't take much does it?, not having played DX HR of course. 
Eventhough it's not exactly in the same genre. I will in all likelyhood spend more time with Sots 2 than any other game this year. Opinions being subjective and all.

The patch improved the game a lot, I agree - but I still think the combat sucks - and the story is pretty uninspired.

Both of your points are true, but still, it had an atmosphere no TES game has ever matched for me. And G2 and Risen just flat out pawn anything TES related.

It's funny how everyone here was super hyped with this games from watching all the videos and stuff, and now, just because the developer says the console is the main target, every fuckin game is better than this.
Some people in this forum are just pathetic, in the past years I've been reading this forum just for fun. It's a shame, it used to be really useful and interesting.

@inatan because I greatly enjoyed not playing the two predecessors, I will greatly enjoy not playing the third one in the series as well.

The good thing about being me, i.e. being pessimistic about every upcoming game(especially related to the big developers/publishers and AAA titles), is that I'm right in 95% of the cases. Had to eat my own words with Deus Ex 3( thankfully the dumbing-down elements were optional), but then again, a good surprise is always better than a bad one.

I love it when people say we hate too much. Must be all that nostalgia, the older games cannot possibly be that much better, right? 
If anything there should be more hate. Hate for the cancer and decline that has slowly spread over gaming (RPGs are some of the worse affected). But nope apparently we are all just "nostalgic" and "remembering things wrong".

This forum was better a few years back, true, because games themselves were better, and we were not as bitter.
But to state, that those who complain now were super hyped for it ... what? Before a few days ago, I didn't even post in this thread, because I took it for granted, that this game would be Oblivion with better animations, and perhaps slightly better gameplay. Since I never liked Oblivion (didn't dislike it either, I was simply just bored by it) I had no reason to get hyped over this.
So I was 100% consistent, and if you check any of my posts, it becomes apparent, I rarely am inconsistent.

Well everyone is entitled with their own opinions and everyone likes a pleasant surprise.
But the point is, its ridiculous how a GOOD thing becomes a BAD thing just because the word "console" appears in the middle of it.

First off, because I think this is a really good community, and to be honest, one of the last online communities, that I frequent, that is pretty balanced, when it comes to gaming. It mostly has old timers or more experienced, and smart people posting, but still not the jaded kind that is on the codex. So if someone comes here and says the posters here are pathetic, needs to at least understand, why he is wrong. Not only for myself, but for the whole forum (yeah, I know, how noble of me  ).
