Hm, it seems that my controller has a DirectInput-XInput switch on the back, I might try that first (also thanks for this tutorial!)
edit: Yup, works perfectly fine in XInput mode, no hacked DLLs needed. Problem Microsoft? (yes I'm aware that MS still takes a certain percent of any XInput-compatible controller sold, but still...)

what a good game this has turned out to be i have learnt a lesson here im not going to judge a game after the first 10 mins anymore
This absolutely. I did the same thing with Hunted, played for a very short time and (erroneously) judged it to be shit. I later when back to try again and absolutely loved it --- the same goes with DS3. Tried it, condemned it for not being the DS we know, went back and realised that it actually IS a metric shit-ton of fun! The automatons in this are funny, heh, can't wait to get an automaton party member
I'm definitely going to buy this, I just hope Obsidian support it after-sales with expanded content - though I doubt it.
Aye, it's definitely not for everybody. I guess it depends on your stance/opinion towards aRPGs (especially console aRPGs, which are a huge weakness of mine )
I actually like this. Doesn't have the same feeling as DS1/2, but it comes close to Silverfall, if it weren't for the shitty control scheme, I'd actually regret bashing it in the first place.

No, it doesn't depend only on that. I refuse to even try this shit now, maybe when I'm amazingly bored. I don't want another aRPG, whether it's good or not, I want a damn Dungeon Siege game! I won't excuse them for butchering the name even if the game is good, I don't care, use some other name for your game for fuck's sake. Just played a bit of Lands of Hyperborea (good old mods for Dungeon Siege!) and I prefer to stick with that than with this crap. Managed to gather around 1.5 gb of siegelets, fuck yeah!

Well, I liked the Dark Alliance games on the xbox some years ago, so maybe I'll give this one a go. Although from the demo, the characters seems to have a severe lack of active abilities/spells.

Yeah; 3 spells/abilities for each "stance" - and 3 defensive abilities that aren't stance-specific. Gotta cater to the consoles Oh and yes, it's VERY Dark Alliance'y.
It's an okay game I guess, nothing special. Entertaining, that's all. It has really low production values imo, it looks and plays like a budget game. It's probably the lack of good games, but it keeps me playing. Makes a man appreciate the effort and love put into a game like Witcher.
PS. I agree with the "fuck you Obsidian Entertainment, fuck you" sentiment stated above. I will no longer pay any attention to Obsidian projects. I'm glad they weren't involved in Skyrim since even their most valuable trait, creating interesting characters and great plots, has degraded to something simplistic. What a shame.
I don't get the complaints about inventory or the interface in general. It does it's job and it's not getting in the way. I think it's one of the few rpgs which didn't make me hate UI designers.
Skills are plenty considering each skill has an empowered version and 2 ways to specialize it. There are also some nice synergies and builds aren't obvious.
Also, on hardcore is quite challenging and probably on normal is not a snooze fest either.
Imo the only real flaws are the controls for pc (including the autotargeting) and the camera. Unfortunately, for this kind of game, those are really important. Kinda sad to ruin a nice game with stuff that shouldn't ever be an issue.
Guys, i dont know if anyone has answered this, but is it possible to play coop via hamachi or something on this ? cause me playing with a friend in coop is the only reason i wanna play it
Except the game has a pretty big inventory which makes separating it on tabs a good thing and it's really easy to find the items you just looted, compare with what you have and equip if needed.
22 skills per class, 18 of them being tweaked based on your build are plenty.
oh god how good does it feel just to look at those great inventories (well.. aside dragon age's..) All of them are games so much better than... this.. which i still play for some reason..
honestly guys, how are you not bored of this game? You have basically 9 activables per class, and only four classes. That's very shallow ... am I missing something here?
