Yeah this is definitely something on your end. The game works smooth with PhysX on high on my rig with HD4870

It looks ugly with the post-processing effects, seriously. Physx is also useless, like in most games actually.

You are insane. It looks outstanding. PhysX being useless has nothing to do with the fact that PhysX is what is being used to allow all the particle effects to happen in this game. Without it, the game doesn't look anywhere as good. You can debate all day that some other physics engine could do it (Which I agree with). However, it doesn't change the fact that it is what it is. So to be frank, you are bitching over nothing.

I really get tired of hearing people bitch at stuff like this because the technology implemented doesn't fit your own personal vendetta. It's fucking annoying, and give appreciation for where the appreciation is obviously due. I refuse to allow someone to sit there and say the game looks ugly when it is obvious it isn't. You can pretend that the color Green is the color Blue all day if you like. In the end green is fucking green and we all know it.

DarkRohirrim I am very curious to see how it looks without the post processing.. because I am not sure why you hate it so much.

Would you mind posting a couple of screenshots without pp?

Why don't you turn them off and see for yourselves? I for one find the first game better looking than this one with all the post-processing bullshit on. As I said, without them it looks much more like the first game, but more detailed. Fancy bullshit effects alone don't make the graphics of a game and graphics alone don't make a game look better. As for Physx, I meant the exclusive effects for this game are useless, not the entire physics of the game. And why do you guys think I'm bitching? I'm not, I like the game, I like pretty much everything about it, but I still find the first game better.

Ah, fine. I tried it just now. It looks terrible tbh. Half of the colored lighting is missing and the environment looks very static.. as you said like a 11 year old game. Laughing

That looks better for me. I prefer that, than to have vaseline all over my screen. As for the colored lightning missing... that doesn't even fit McGee's Wonderland anyway, so it's better if it's missing. It only makes everything shiny, I don't want that at all in a game like this.

The default post-processing for UE3 tend to use a rather hazy/foggy and strong bloom type effect for lighting (With HDR adjustments SSAO and all that mixed in for later builds.) so it's understandable some will really dislike it, same way people have varied opinions about motion blur and depth of field effects.
(Some of this can be alleviated via the post-process controls in the *Engine.ini file and as covered it can be disabled outright.)

Sigh, I found the first Red Paint area in Chapter 3, answered the riddle correctly, only to be rewarded with a crash every single time it tries to load the main area.

Guess I have to skip it. Sad

Had a problem like that near the end of the game when I played it recently. It might be because of Madly Enhanced. Anyway, I just typed "noclip" in the console and passed through the door. If you're playing this "remastered" edition included in the new game, the console is deactivated, if I'm not wrong. Other than that I have no ideas.

15h, 92% complete so probably like 10h or less if you just ignore all secrets and follow direct route through levels.
One of the main complains for reviewers is that it's too long and badly paced. Useless ADHD mongrels got used to 4-5h games like cod, god forbid they work more than a day for a review...

So it's longer than the first game because of all the secrets and collectibles, having pretty much the same lenght as the first one if you ignore those. Well, it's good enough in how long the game is I think.

You can skip it, but if you enter the snail shell and go for the red rose part the game crashes when loading after getting it (at least for me it does).

I think I'm going to post "this game is great!" every single day I play.. because guess what folks? This game is great!!! It's the perfect mix of oldschool and modern gameplay..

These Chinese guys are good!!! And it seems American McGee can still make great games. Smile It's a damn shame this is their last traditional game, and they're going to focus on social network and tablet games from now and on Sad

This is definitely one of my favorite games of this year/ever along with Portal 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution (I still have to play The Witcher 2 due to the lack of 4:3 support.. Embarassed)

Unfortunately, I plan to buy DE:HR on release, so this game will have to wait until it's on sale and I have enough money for it. Crying or Very sad

Does everyone have a problem with unlocking extra content? Specifically concept art and character info. I've finished the game, overall completion 95% but only have 16/40 concept art and 43/74 characters.

For me the game only unlocked chapter 3 and 5 concept art.
