Erm, Westwood's Blade Runner did the detective thing a lot better than this, in my opinion anyway.

Beat the game. I'd give the story an A+ but the repetitive gameplay knocks the actual gaming aspect to a C.
For those that are halfway through and starting to get bored, keep going cause the story is worth it.

I totally agree. I like the game but yet again its way to simple. No real detective work needed, with the hints system on and using those intuition points there would be no gameplay basically at all. The whole thing is a bit a sham as a true game

I agree. I loved that game. It really bothers me that when people go on about graphics not mattering, the gameplay cannot seem to evolve past (or be equal to) games we had over a decade ago, yet graphics skyrocket ahead.
You are a detective. It should be your job to sort the clues out from the nonsense and to define how a clue is actually useful, to me that seems the point of a detective game.
I got a new monitor this afternoon so I'll give it a bash again on the PS3, since the story apparently does get better. | thats my favorite game not only its nonlinear [the story changes every time you start a new game !!! you will never hunt for the same android] but in some cases Ai hunters will work againts you to solve the case so they can get the praise for it ... here every case is the same even after you restart, i only laugh that i got the game form a second hand handler for 10$ he said 9 people sold this game to him thinking its GTA or mafia ... i even got a valid key in it for new free adventures ... ah i love buying new games used for 1/6 of the store price

He means Blade Runner.
Come to think of it, didn't that also have you interviewing people and trying to work out whether they were lying or not (the machine where it monitors their pupils)

oh yea speaking of badges - i found one hidden badge or some shit in the city hall of records. i have yet to have seen 1 single golden reel - are they not available in story mode or is it a free roam only thing? i have no intentions of wasting a minute of my time looking I was just curious why i never saw any.

the 2 availbale DLCs are nothing special btw...no relation to the story at all, more like small filler episodes. let's hope they put a bit more work into the next 2 ones

i tried playing that one last night (the car salesman, forgot the case name). so i'm on a jtag and i've been overwriting each disc with the next one. in my dash all 3 show up and i can launch each one and do any of the cases. i did that last night with the car salesman thing and MAN did it get fucked up once i made it to the salesman.
the speech started looping, when the car guy went to introduce himself it started repeating the speech they had in the car on the way over. their faces wouldn't move and mouths wouldn't open. and then after i let the conversation run to see if it would straighten itself out, cole's face turned purple and green. he kinda looked a cross between max headroom and the mask. i decided to play a bit further but once i picked up the bill of sale or whatever it is he gives you at his desk, i couldn't release the evidence by hitting B. it didn't lock up i just couldn't back out from that.

Just started the game yesterday and i must say that i love it. I've heard that the gameplay does get repetitive after a while but now i'm at the homicide bureau cases and still having a blast. It is true that the pattern seems to be the same for each cases (go to scene crimes , analyse evidence , go to X locations to question people of interests ect) but even then i'm not getting bored. I love interviewing people and try to figure out if they are lying or telling the truth.
I think this is the game with the best voice acting i have ever seen. Production values are quite high and it certainly show.

Yes , it can be repetitive..but there are other things that are great and keep me going. Im on 18th case , I didn't touch the game for over a week now..Im taking a break cause I was tired at one point , but Im gonna finish it soon. And Im still saying .. game is great..like a good movie.
No replay value tho , at least for me..only if u are interrogation nazi..

Yeah, it's the same with Heavy Rain actually... stunning game, but there really is no replay value.

There is a massive amount of replayability. All the other choices that can be made to hear other dialogue options. etc
3080, ps5, lg oled
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"

lot of work to go through just to hear a few extra words that lead to pretty much the same outcome. i'd hardly call that massive...

Btw , anyone think that they should incorporate some LA Noire elements to the next GTA ? Like be able to choose what you say , interrogating people (more like bullying for GTA) , different ways to accomplish missions ect (IE: do i kill this guy or do i put a gun in his mouth and try to make him shit his pants ?)
I think that could be a good step in the evolution of the series.

There are some rumors that you'll play as a cop in the next GTA, so maybe they'll implement something like that in there.. And I think R* said they are going to invest more into the LA Noire tech, so maybe they'll use the facial scan in their next games (GTA/RDR) as well...? Though, I hope not. Maybe it will work ok in GTA but RDR at least had great facial animation, and overall better look without this tech, and I think this tech will just make it look weird. Still, just rumors...

I just finished it , didn't expect it to end that way... I really hope they continue to build on this game , so much potential. And yes there is a piece of Rage engine in this , just saw it in the ending credits..
