I havent played GT4 but i played GT3 several hundred hours. The reason i never got GT4 is that my PS2 isnt chipped and i didnt feel like buying it.
Here are my takes on the difference between the games (GT3 not 4).
Graphicswise Forza really loses in one way: GT3 came, what, 3 or 4 years ago? And even though Forza kicks the graphic ass out of GT3 at some points overall the difference isnt all that big and at some points GT3 shines alot more than Forza does. Now the kicker is this: Take a look at Rallisport Challenge 2, the graphics it musters are incredible compared to both Forza and GT3. GT3 you can understand because it is much older and GT4 you can understand because its on an older platform. But Forza is newer than Rallisport Challenge 2 and on the same platform. Sure you could argue that Forza uses the power of the xbox to boost the physics to the maximum but in my opinion the graphics SHOULD be alot better.
The feel of GT3 is in my opinion more authentic, like pallebrun pointed out, when u compare to real life. I've driven the Audi S4 and the Nissan 240SX in GT3, Forza and real life (Not on a real circuit but in everyday trafic as well as on a giant industry-parking lot just to get the feel of how they handle at higher speeds and narrow cornering). GT3 really delivers in this compartment with almost totally realistic handling while Forza seriously comes a bit short. Just out of curiousity i brushed the dust of my GT3 and compared the S4 (non modified) at Laguna Seca on GT3 and on Forza. The feeling of both the car and the circuit are quite similar but as i pointed out before the S4 feels alot more realistic.
Now the big disadvantage of GT3 is of course that if you smash straight into the corkscrew at Laguna Seca with your newly washed S4 doing 200 km/h you pull out doing the same speeds in no time. Do that in Forza and you'll be lucky to continue driving. The damage model is awesome in Forza, maybe the damage itself doesnt look all that great but it FEELS great.
GT3 and especially GT4 have alot more cars than Forza but i dont really care because seriously, how many of them do you really take the time to drive? I know i only drove like 5-6 seriously in GT3, except for the events that require a specific brand etc, since you most likely find the cars you like the most and tend to stick to them. So even though i probably drove 60-70 cars in my GT3-career those 5-6 cars take up 90% of my playtime.
All in all i'd give GT3 a 9,5 score and Forza a 9 (remove 0,5 if the damage model wouldnt have been there). What makes me want to play Forza more than GT3 (or 4) right now is that it's new, it's on the xbox and (even though both games claim to be simulations although having a bit different feel) it's nice with a fresh feeling to the "same" game.

That Corvette i'm driving in amature corevette level 20 handles like a boat on a trailer... i cannot find any setting that even gives me the slightest chance ... i won all other races so far and even some on professional level i have tried but that corvette thing, its got to be a bug , the thing just tire squeals round the whole lap with little to no chance of making any corners no matter how wide and gentle

Played both, GT4's graphics are way better. Less innovation though in GT4 wich makes Forza the better racing title.

try getting your games from a good source. most pubs always have incomplete files by like a couple kbs(so small that winrar won't detect a corrupted file) and when you burn the iso...xbox gives you a error.

is it realy fair to compare it to any gt game beside gt1 this is the first time they made a sim and it is quite good the graphics are just as good as PGR2 and the physics are alot better than gt4 and things like tire pressure loss, tire wear, and the way damage affects your driving can't be done in gt
and to get technical can you call a game a sim if you can hit a wall at 100mph and nothing happens

Any differences between Forza_Motorsport_USA_XBOXDVD-CDZ and the first Pal release?
Is the USA release running better on an NTSC Xbox? Anyone tried it yet?

I thought it was odd that I first got the Pal release, then when I bought the NTSC retail, it registered the same save game as the pal release. Not having seen that before, I deleted that one and created a new one

well after completing over 50% of this game i have taken it out my xbox i think for the last time , it is very shallow as a racing game, i will try to explain if u do not have the fastest car in the race u will NOT win using good driving u will have to smash and knock em around to win and as the races get longer and longer frustration starts to build, so as a racing game its not good as a driving game its good , but u either lead from the off and win a boring race or u start in the pack and stay there ive gone back to midnite club 3 for some great frantic racing and u really appretate a good racing game roll on toca racing driver 3 and project gotham 3 and LA rush looks nice too.
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

Imo that's always the case in these kind of games. That's why I don't like them very much. To get a good car you have to play some easy races again and again until you have enough money to tune your car for the harder races. That's so boring and it's a huge gameplay flaw that you will find everywhere (GT/SEGA GT/FORZA/etc.). I don't know why these games always get such good ratings. Racing games like Race Driver for example are way better imo.
