Since first Trackmania was one of the first games to use SF3 I am assuming this one uses the very latest SF3 protection so it's possible we won't be seeing a cracked version anytime soon Sad. I couldn't care less about Splinter Cell Chaos theory or these other games that are coming out, this is the one I want!

For all peeps still waiting for a craXed version to come out, go here to download TONS of maps that are playable with the demo:
http://sunrise.tm-exchange.com/

Its a BLAST to play with friends... plus you can paste "ogg" files into the "C:\Program Files\TmSunriseDemoMag\GameData\Skins\Island\Music\Race" directory to create your own race music play list!

happy racing....

Afaik the only solution to create a working backup copy is to extract the DPM info (prior to having installed any sf driver), burn the image with RMPS emulation and use a USB 2.0 cd-/dvd-rom drive (having unplugged/disabled all IDE drives) + RMPS emulation.
But obviously the guy who did the french iso didn't know how to extract the DPM info correctly, so actually there's no iso worth downloading around as of now.

Gamespot - Sunrise is, in most every way, exactly what you would want from a sequel to the original TrackMania.

Gamespot give it a 8.2

The Demo crashes with an windows error message if i try to load up any custom levels from the site mentioned above.

Can you actually play any custom levels with the demo ?

I've got a full working alcohol clone with DPM info, but I haven't got a usb burner to burn it with. Sad So, the question is, should I buy the game or a new burner? In that case, which burner should I get?

Well, u can better buy the game.
Why?
Well, there aren't USB drives, all are a port from IDE/SATA->USB.
If u buy a USB drive (Around 40$/€), then U also have to buy a DVDROM, something around 40$/€ too if u want a good one. So lets say a 70-80$. The game is here only 45$, but on Play.com I think its around 30$. And the change that this USB thing will be fixed in next versions of SF3 is there I think... So this might be one of the lastest game which can be played on USB Drive. So I don't think its worth it, but thats my opinion Smile
BTW, U don't need to burn it with a DVD Burner, u can just burn it with ur own IDE/SATA one, but U need to have the CD/DVD in the USB Drive.

PC: Yes. Console: No.

Thanks for the info. You seem to have a point there. I was just wondering, cause I'd have to buy a faster burner anyway, but since the usb ones cost a whole lot more than ide drives, I guess it's not worth the difference if I'm only able to play one game more.

It just pisses me off, that I've got the original cd in my hand, but I'm not able to make a copy out of it... Evil or Very Mad

Since no computer or software stores in the Portland area seem to even know about the existance of this game, let alone carry it, does anyone know of a site where I can buy the US version of the game and download it instantly? Direct2Drive doesn't have it.

You dont need a usb burner, you just need a usb enclosure. And those are like 20 bucks.
