No i don't have a link but it's for sure that something is going on, allready 3 games not released : Cars 2, Red faction Armageddon and pro cycling manager 2011, the 2 first named titles would be released long ago if things were normal so i think/fear that pc releases is going to be much delayed or not relased at all in the future given the new rules/agreement amongst the major groups. Sad

I vaguely remember reading something in a recent NFO, I passed it off as more NFO drama, but yeah... I do remember something about a scene shakeup with new rules signed by the top groups. I can't remember which one it was though Sad

I'll start trawlling through .nfos when I can be arsed, then. Very Happy This would also explain the remark in FLT's Crysis 2 crackfix about it not being ready to release; they wouldn't release a crack if they weren't sure that it wouldn't get nuked, so they must've been specifically holding off due to the new rules. When SkidRow's crack was nuked, they had to move the release forward.

Obviously groups are holding back things now due to some kind of new rules set, i thought the same when reading the FLT nfo and the bashing of skidrow ruining scene...hopefully we will c a flow of pc games eventually again or else it sucks big time..allready missing the old FLT/Razor/Deviance days a lot....Sad

Nothing in the nfo to indicate why the wait, or any mention of new rules.

God damn, it's hard work finding out about scene politics.

Maybe you're talking about this?

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Radical changes are coming, be sure you remember how spoiled you were

Yes, a new ruleset is on the way. No, the new ruleset doesn't explain the delay of some recent games. It happened before with the other THQ titles (Homefront, Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War II: Retribution for example). That pretty much explains the missing Red Faction: Armageddon release, you have to use your brain a bit to see where I'm leaning. Very Happy

Don't worry, like human_steel said the Russian and Chinese P2P groups will save the day. The Scene has become really lazy and there's no real competition anymore like there was back in the day. Sad

Wasn't it like this the whole time? I mean - the scene releases weren't supposed to ever reach out to the common folk but eventually they did...

The Scene still hates P2P and all the "scene" torrent trackers/DC hubs that have been around for some years now. Their releases are only designed for the other people on the Scene, yet they get leaked to everyone else as well. The Sceners don't like that publicity, because after all, they'll be the ones that are busted in a raid.

One way or another the releases would leak to the public. It can happen in 5 minutes, it can happen in 5 hours, but it will. P2P has a lot of access to scene sources and usually everything is uploaded in a minute or two after the pre. One thing's for sure, the new PCISO ruleset can't and won't affect the Scene security and leaks in any way. Smile

WTF? Why would one mount on doing something that's somewhat illegal if they're afraid of the consequences or the legal outcome. Laughing The Chinese dudes seem to not give a goat's prostate at all. Laughing

As I've said above, the releases are meant only for the other Sceners. Everyone is afraid of the consequences, but they do it for the others on the Scene that risk their asses in supplying different things (movies/music/apps and etc.) Then suddenly many people that didn't contribute to the Scene in any way get access to the Scene releases as fast as every Scener Joe. Cool Face

That's really going off-topic now, let's stop it right here. We have more appropriate sections for these discussions. Smile

So, the new order must apply to the whole scene and not just only to the PC games 'division'. Are such mentions being made reference to in other nfos of other scene releases such as movies, programs, etc.?

No, I've said it. A PCISO ruleset can't affect the whole Scene's security and the radical changes won't be there for sure. There's no talking about "radical changes" in the other sections. :]
