Im looking for a PC gamepad to replace my Logitech Wingman RumblePad - this gamepad is so faulty - I bought one and needed a replacement but then the replacement started to screw around as well so I though f**k it...

What I need is (similar specs to Wingman):
- USB compatilibilty (not fussy about wireless)
- 2 analogue pads
- more than enough buttons and must feature easy customisation
- reliability & good build quality (unlike wingman Sad)

anyone have any good recommendations for me?
Cheers! Very Happy

My mate uses a Logitech Wingman RumblePad and hes had no problems with his. Both of us love it, and would recommend it to anyone, so I cant really help ya.

I also use a modified Xbox controller. The only problem I have with it is that the accellerator is stuck down on NFSU2.

I have a Logitech Dual Shock and it sucks big time. Just take a look at the .us forum of logitech and you see hunderds of posts from users with the same problems. Controllers loosing calibartion or drifting to the left side. I had three replacements for the pad and they all showed the same symptoms after a few weeks. I have given up on the logitech crap, as logitech never bothered to even address this matter.

Don't know about the saitek ones. I have tried a few of them at a store and they don't seem to be very sturdy and durable. I also tried this one, i might get it for GTA SA (cheap too), it was quite good, but the logitech was good too in the first few weeks. so who knows Wink.

In case you're still looking... I've had the Saitek p880 for about 2 years and it still works great. It comes with good software too. I got mine at Future Shop for like $30 CAN. I play NHL 2005, GTA: SA, Prince of Persia: WW, and many others with it and never had any probs.

There are no PC gamepads (i have several of them) that are as good as the PS2 or N64/Gamecube gamepads, much more time/effort (and money) has been invested in creating these gamepads than the ones available for the PC.

Use a converter and buy a PS2 gamepad if you want the best.

I use my XBOX controller with a DIY adapter, it's super easy and quite reliable. get the "type-s" or something gamepads, not the earlier ones. The first controllers were huge and bulky, the type-s are pretty nice

tutorial:

driver:

I did that, works perfect. Learning to solder is very easy, so don't be afraid.
Extra care you might wanna take (like I did): buy an Xbox extension cord and cut that instead of the controller's wire. That way nothing worthy can be broken Smile Plus you get plenty of wire, weeee!

Might be a bit late, but try this one. Just watch out when you plug it in Smile.
