I'm thinking you guys were young and impressionable when the movie came out.

Try watching it today without the nostalgia-factor.

It's Bay in every bad sense of the name.

Watching without the nostalgia factor? that would mean pretty much every bruce willis/arnold flick of the 80s is shit. Laughing

Re-watch. So grey and dreary yet brilliant (macclesfield in the early 70'ies, depressing).

I was around 19 or so when I saw it, and I found it to be atrocious Hollywood crap Smile

I do specifically remember having friends that really liked it, though.

Coincidentally, one of those friends also convinced me to buy Blade on DVD - sight unseen. Still haven't forgiven him for that one!

The Ward (2010) - John Carpenter has lost his touch and flair. It had a decent story but the presentation was severely degraded. It can hardly be called a horror movie - had only a few startling moments which, most of them, were poorly made. A 5/10 would perfectly fit it.

very nice movie for its genre (real story/crime)

Hardly.

I just rewatched the Rock with no nostalgia. I loved it when I was younger, now I found it was just an alright action flick.

But if I compare it to the likes of the Die Hard trilogy it's completely shit. Die Hard (especially the first one) is how you make a truly amazing action movie, it's great no matter what age you're at, no matter how many times you watch it. It has no complex plot, no real twists even, but it's still better than most action movies.

The Rock is a forgettable albeit alright flick.

Well fucking duh Very Happy ofc die hard is better (effin brucey!!)

Take Me Home Tonight (2011) - 7/10

Most people will probably rate it lower, but I'm a sucker for these types of movies. I love anything 80's, anything Girl Next Door (loser gets the girl type flicks), so I loved this movie. Very Happy
There were probably about 3 or 4 laugh out loud scenes, and Dan Fogler was awesome as the "best buddy" character.

Regarding the title....
