I must say, the notifications look completely out of place in the OS, entirely different presentation. One I like more if I'm honest, but from a UX point of view, the implementation fails miserably right now because of that.

Does anybody know how you can purchase apps that are larger than 20mb over 3G?
Sometimes I am around for some days without Wifi access, and then I don't want to miss out on free apps that are reduced or free for 1 day.
I don't need to download them immediately, I just want to buy them to add them to my Itunes library and maybe download later.

So i'm currently thinking of getting an iPhone but i'm not sure whether to get one now or later. I currently have a Nokia e72 but I feel like I want a more solid smartphone with good apps, touchscreen and so on..
So, the one available right now is iPhone 4 right? However there are rumors of a new one coming.
What seems to be the estimated release for the new one? I am a very impatient guy so I wanna get my hands on an iPhone as fast as possible but I don't want to do the stupid mistake of missing out on something twice as better in two months time.
But for those who have iPhone 4 today, what are the biggest problems that you are facing? Because i'm not gonna do extreme stuff with mine like playing 720p videos and so on. Just gonna use it like the average user, apps, music and so on.
Thanks.

September
Whether you want to wait is your decision, it will be a decent upgrade in terms of hardware, which will probably matter for the games you play.

Not that I know of, but I don't own one. It'll just mean that you'll probably get even better looking games, but again, little is known about the iPhone 5 at this point

Nobody knows what the Iphone5 will bring exactly, but honestly there is not much that they can improve. Sure, they might add a better battery, an even better display, a smaller case or a faster cpu, but I never had any problem with my Ip4 that bugged me.
And if you want the Ip5, you will probably have to wait some weeks more after September, because those things are sold out immediately after launch and it can be hard getting one that fast...

Indeed, unless you're willing to enter the line at the mobile store 24h before launch. Think iPhone 4 will do it for me. Do you guys know any good websites that sell to Europe cheap? Shouldn't it come out cheaper if I order from US or Canada?

@ Razacka: yes, but you'll run the risk of it getting caught by customs. If it does you gotta pay extra taxes + fine + fuck knows what else
If you can find it a US store it should be considerably cheaper though. 550 EUR vs. the 550 USD or so it'll cost over there - that's 379 EUR, so 170 EUR cheaper, more than enough to cover shipping even with some insurance
@ bringiton: oh there is plenty they can and want to improve. They want the NFC chip in there, but they're not ready for it yet, so that'll come next year.
Also, and I'm gonna get hated for this, the display can be improved. I don't think any of the displays on any phone right now gets it right. Where AMOLED has the contrast and usually the colour accuracy, the iPhone has the dot pitch (pixels per inch) - now we need a combination of the two.
I know Apple fans will disagree, but the iPhone 4 has in fact got fucking aweful colours and contrast *despite* being an IPS-based display. Its black levels are like 0.6 cd/m^2 at its maximum brightness (which is way, WAY too high, only good for outdoor use), and still 0.4 or so at medium brightness. Obviously you're not going to get AMOLED-like black levels, but 0.4 is pretty terrible
Likewise, AMOLED lacks the dot pitch the iPhone 4's display has, and typically the stupid glass layer is way too reflective.
If Apple really want to be inventive, they figure that one out. Come out with a display with the same high PPI, but with colours/contrast close to AMOLED and something that works in direct sunlight (still shit on the iPhone 4, like most other phones - iPhone 2/3 were much better to use in the sun).

You need to be careful not to get a netlocked Phone from the US. I don't know how things are there right now, but some time ago you could only get the phone with an AT&T contract, and if you bought the phone seperately it was still netlocked. Maybe they fixed that, but you definitely should check it out first.
And I also have no idea about warranty, if Apple repair service accepts phones from the US in europe. Usually in europe it is no problem when the phone is from another country, but it might be different when it's from another continent.

As with any battery-driven device, it's best to NOT keep it constantly fully charged. Doing so can actually drain/damage the battery and cause it to lose overall capacity. It's often best, and recommended, to let the battery drain completely - then charge it up again.

On Lithium ion batteries though, (they are in all newer high tech devices, such as phones and so on) you should not drain them completely Recharge them when they are at 10% and if you are going to put your phone away for some time use it up to 80% and then put it away
From time to time you should fully drain the battery and fully recharge it though (every 2 months or so)

Jailbreak 3.0 is now live on that page.
Just be sure to update your iPad2 to IOS 4.3.3 first (JB3.0 works on all devices on IOS 4.3.3)

To download "on the go" - add this repo inside Cydia's "sources";
http://cydia.hackulo.us/
Then search for and install "Installous" via Cydia. After that you can use Installous to find/download anything you want. Install AppSync from Cydia, then simply download IPA files from anywhere - double click them to load into iTunes - and sync your device.
