Looks really good and impressive, thanks. Take a look at this, even these short bits and pieces of the game, they are enough to show you what was wrong BioShock 2.

Yeah, I think the second game should be like erased from existence and that in the future we will only talk about BioShock and BioShock Infinite.

Also, the girl's voice in the demo sounded so much like Drew Barrymore. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

There's health regeneration but it makes sense because there are so many enemies attacking from so many different directions. They were playing with God mode on, the health had reached 0 and the player was under heavy fire but he didn't die.

It looks good, but I want to see what kind of customization (if any?) is possible (powers etc)

Notice the smiley?

That said, I would be quite willing to talk about System Shock anywhere.

bioshock 2 was a farmed out sequle, ken levine didn't touch it. it was 2k capitalising on some easy money.

so for anyone who is a big fan of irrational games. bioshock 2 did in fact not exist at all.

anyway the demo blew me away. i only just played bioshock, im not a big shooter fan. but anything that puts emphasis on narrative and atmosphere always gets a shot with me, and this is now up their with the last guardian for the most hyped games of this generation for me easily.

has bioshock been in the steam sale already? hopefully it will come back.

Looks a bit more interesting than the previous games which were some of the most boring games I ever tried. I'll probably try this one too, but I'm not waiting for it at all.

Looks fantastic. The only thing I could complain about is that they called it "Bioshock". From what we have seen until now, it has no real ties to the old games. Maybe they should have made this a new IP. But then again, big names = big money...

2K asked them after BioShock to make a sequel and they replied "no, we're done with the Rapture universe, there are no more stories to tell there and stay creative". And BioShock 2, made by 2K Marin, proved this.

Instead Irrational decided to make a spiritual sequel to BioShock, in the same way BioShock is a spiritual sequel to System Shock 2; some gameplay aspects and the atmosphere remain, but it's a brand new mysterious world to explore.

Also notice how in this demo the only power of Elizabeth is the "Tears" while in the previous demo she had telekinesis, weather control, etc and the Tears gameplay aspect was completely absent. I wouldn't be surprised if in the final game Elizabeth is going to have only the "Tears" power, as the earlier gameplay demonstration was done.. very early, and the gameplay and characters could have changed significantly (for example HL2 changed significantly from 2002 to 2004).

Also now there's a 2 weapon limitation.

2 weapon limitation totally killed the game for me. I guess the derps complained too much about all the weapons in Bioshock 1/2.

The level of detail is truly astonishing as well as the atmosphere, it's a game that relies much on the cinematic aspects and scripted events.. let's hope the gameplay provides and adequate level of depth with different powers for different strategic approaches, it looked like Bulletstorm at times Cool Face

We are limited to carrying a certain number of weapons this time around to make the gameplay more challenging, strategic and dynamic.

Words are just not enough to express the lol wut ness

I'm sure there will also be some kind of vita chambers to make the game more "challenging". Laughing
And being limited to carry 2 guns sure opens up a lot of "strategic" options..
Changing you weapons constantly? That makes the gameplay more "dynamic"?

Soon they'll be saying stuff like you can't die in this game to make it more challenging and strategic. Also we removed the inventory to make the game more complex.

Maybe these new game developers live in a parallel universe where everything is opposite.

One single weapon would have been even better: you don't have to think about which weapon type you are going to be using, just focalize on the most dynamic strategy available....Run and Gun! Laughing

Yeah, that was 2K's mistake with DNF.
I'm sure that if they had limited the weapons in the game to Duke's mighty foot it would turn out much better. Laughing

I still look forward to this game, Ken Levine still has it but this limit is just plain dumb and lazy IMO.

I say we turn the game into a movie. You don't play at all, you just sit and watch what happens on screen.

Constant switching of weapons probably mean we won't be able to upgrade them either, one more step away from SS2 and closer to CoD.
