Whoever (cant remember his name) worked on Adam's script after he died needs to be shot.

Sadly the movie was a disapointment, it felt as it was cut short. Dont get me wrong i do understand that they cant wery well do a movie from the entire book, but somethings just was not there. Maybe they are saving it for as sequel or something, but i cant really recommend the movie to anyone who has read the books since it cant do them justice.
Of all the things i've lost, i miss my mind the most!

The Tv series (the parts that covered the first book (like the film)) was 4 episodes.
and IIRC each episode was 30 minutes, so they could have easily fit the first book into two hours.
Adam's idea of writing the new scenes would have only worked (and maybe he understood this) if the diolog wasent so watered down, I really would like to get my hands on to Adams draft of the script before the other bloke got involved.

I just felt the movie was boring, especially compared to the series.

Great. I believe HHGTTG fits better in the tv-series format compared to the big screen. They'd have to make a trilogy of the first book the get it done properly and that's just not going to happen. And then there are four more books (the first two sequels are nearly as brilliant and fun as the first one. I don't count the sixth though since it's not written by Douglas Adams who had died 8 years previous).
I do wish they used Simon Jones from the 1981 british tv-series but he's turning 70 next year and doesn't fit the profile of Arthur Dent being a pre-middle aged boring british male. He did a brilliant job in the tv-series and IS Arthur Dent to me since he was sooo close to the one I had in my head from reading the books.
Mod-mode: Edited the OP adding the IMDB link and editing the title to fit.

It fits the purpose, is named HHGTTG and the first page will be forgotten once more information has been released. I'll try to remember to add a poster picture to the OP when there is one. This way it will be faster to find this thread instead of having multiple H2G2 threads.
