this is exactly what I did:

Quote:

STEP 1:Unpack and install game mounted on newest daemon tools.Start game:
Game will then ask you to reboot to install the protection system.
Do as asked and reboot.

STEP 2:In the patch folder there are 3 files.
Run sfdrvrem.exe but do not reboot yet.
Then run sfdrvup.exe which will give you an error 1072.
Finally run the sfdrvpatch.exe on the file located in
Windows/System32/Drivers.Should tell you it is cracked.
Now reboot.

STEP 3:Click game icon and again it will ask to to reboot to install
protection system.(Bah)

STEP 4:Finally download Starforce nightmare from http://starf.bestmedia.kiev.ua/.
Run the SFNightmare.exe and(a) disable cd (b) disable node and (if needed (c)
disable ch2(depending on what IDE cable your cd drives are on).)
Ensure CD2 is mounted and try to play.Enter serial *********.
Game should check disk and play.

NOTE: Game was tested on several desktop computers with XP installed and cdroms on channel2
IDE cables.

When asked for serial use

At step 3, replace "(Bah)" by a reboot...
You may have to rename the daemon-tools drivers (can be done during setup)
Btw i can't make the 1.1 patch to work...

I did reboot and everyone that did got it 2 work, didn't rename daemon, so that shouldn't be the problem...

failed to identify disc in the drive, insert a licensed disc

I got the game to work by following the instructions in the NFO, but when i applied the 1.1 patch, it's suddenly not working anymore Does anyone know how to get it to work with the 1.1 patch (i'm using the carbon clone BTW)? Gigabyte S-Series GA-G33-DS3R, Intel C2D Quad Q6600 OC @ 3.2Ghz, 4gb Kingston PC8500 1066Mhz DDR2, Geforce 7800GTX (will get a 9800GTX when they are released), 2 x 250Gb HD's and a case with built in paper and lotion dispenser.

dont bother with the patch. It causes more problems then it fixes. I'm waiting for the 1.2 patch.

But i need the patch. The game is laggy as fuck, and according to the patch readme it improves performance quite a bit. I can't play it at its current state due to the shitty performance, so i have to have the patch Crying or Very sad

hmm, tried it again, it loads very fast...get a black screen but then a vopyl.dll error :S thought I finally can play this game, but no..WHY NOT ??? I searched for the file and it's one of the dll's in de cossacks dir...strange it gives an error...I'll wait for crack rls

So, no one cracked this one yet?
Played the demo and it's awesome!!!!!!!

Perhaps trying the carbon method again, but I think it won't work for me:(

So anyone with a working 1,2 patch already? I finally got it to work, but it's not like cossacks 1, far from it... They don't even shoot automatically, and it's more stratego then the nice building your empire and attack Also, why can't I play with more then 1 opponent in skirmish? 1vs1 sucks!
