Transformers - Dark of the Moon - 6/10, loved it, but it really needs to get rid of Shia, or anything related to his character,

As a side note, a game set in an alternate path, where they do bring Cybertron next to Earth would be great, imagine the possibilities, cyber-punk-previously desolated towns, trading posts, fighting for the autobot underground...oh man, so much potential.

Ironclad - 3/10 - Overrated cliché of a movie that drags on too long and has so many problems (in spite of the utterly simple plot), I mean for instance... why are the "danes" speaking polish (or is it hungarian, it certainly isn't Danish)? Why are they played by polish/czech actors? And why are they barbarians? Denmark at this time was long since Christian and a rather powerful nation at that. Why would they behave like vikings (and their stereotypes) and adopt Hollywood stereotype behavior. Why is suddenly the Magna Carta some kind of document that caters to free men? I hate it when history is simplified and dumbed down like this.

And then it is the sword of the supposed 'knight templar', what is he doing here? Why is it that terrible film makers stick "Knights templar" into anything that plays out between the 9:th to 14:th Century? I understand that this movie is supposed to be simple entertainment, but it's just ridiculous when there's a two-handed sword used in a "boss fight" against the long-haired viking Czech(?)-speaking barbarian Dane.

Paul Giamatti was excellent when he was playing John Adams, his acting was fitting for a more or less sideline-character, but as king he is pathetic. He has no charisma and his one-dimensional acting was deplorable. And what's with the sexual frustration here, and why is a knight of the templar riddled with 21:st Century moral dilemmas and why would he commit such atrocities as he did? It is simply not believable... and using James Purefoy, who was awesome as Mark Anthony, but has since degraded to doing shit roles in Camelot and now in this film. The characters are shallowly written and acted, and the film makers tried to go for "historic, authentic, entertaining" in the sense of Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator or Braveheart. But ended up doing something next to farcical terrible acting, horribly written dialogue (I mean for God's sake, what's with the american accents and the anachronistic lines?).

The only redemption for this movie is that it is has decent production value and cool effects. Impressive certainly for those who prefer fiction to history and terrible acting but nice sword fighting and lots of head bashing and blood.

What a waste of time, I feel. And I had such great hopes initially (with the cast and all). Meh!

Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

LOTR (extended) - the whole thing... not going to rate... its just too good for numbers... finally watched it all in 1080.

still blows me away how good it is... how utterly well made. how the action was framed, how the scenes were choreographed... and the attention to detail (the set design, costumes... both in construction and the creative realisation..), and while the cgi is incredibly inconsistant and sometimes clearly rushed or of lower quality, the high points far outweight the lows, and it just looks stunning... and the acting... i think given the fantasy genre a lot of people would write it off for that alone, but its surprising just how incredibly well the actors were directed and the powerful performances they gave. ive seen people win oscars for performances that pale compared to what sean astin did in this. his sam was just amazing, especially towards the end of ROTK... but they all did a fantastic job. its just a perfect trilogy.

and yes i did say sean astin pretty much deserved an oscar for his role, so fucking sue me, his performance was epic. you may mock him or his lines, but he did an amazingly powerful performance far as im concerned.

well i thought that Hangover 2 wasn't THAT bad, it was decent, but this was original and some shit was really funny even though some stuff was formulaic.

I'm tired of those movies made for teenagers just to raise their balls when seeing tuned and exotic cars .

Also, that thing cannot be called a movie .

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Best parts of the movie have already been shown in the trailer sans blood & gore. But even with CGI "ketchup" movie is boring.

one of the best movies ive seen lately. Good cast and although the ending felt a bit cheap I still enjoyed it a lot.
E: did have some plot holes, but fuck em, I needed that kind of "feel good" ending atm.
