people on steam can seperate the game from it by simply running the games exe file in the steamapps common folder,

so if JBeeckmans dlc workd for non-steam you should get it work.

still i dont know if that might cause any unforseen problems.

and you guys are missing out only playing against the AI, its a tough but extremely rewarding game online once you get over the initial grilling stage.

There's the file, doubt it will work but there it is at least.
(Alternate outfit pack, complete.)

Thanks
In which menu we can select this stuff?

Unfortunately I do not have the Flashpoint DLC, these three costumes if they can be made to work (I am uncertain about LIVE based DLC but perhaps there's a way.) will be selectable via the character selection screen as a new option above the color set. Smile

There's the classic SF4 alternate outfits returning and then two outfits per character bringing it to three outfits for the "old" characters and two for all new ones.

Unfortunately, like JBeckman predicated the costumes didn't work out. But thanks for providing them anyway Smile

I guess the Steam version of the DLC might work (If it does use Steamworks that is.) but we'll see on the 23rd when it's released, would likely need a modified Steam based exe though but I don't know much about how the Steam version of SSF4 works. Smile
(Though as Consolitis mentioned it might be that same reason behind Crytek/EA and Valve regarding DLC control and perhaps also patches being via Steam/Steamworks instead of other alternatives.)

Skidrow removed LIVE entirely (Somehow, I know some titles work without it but I thought this oversight was long fixed.) so for now it's just the files available.

Or rather there's a 8 KB little file doing something with the remaining being LIVE related stuff for verification, logo and such and the other content on the "disk" as is pretty usual. Razz

If this could be integrated into the base game via a hack (Trainer?) it might work to allow these alternate outfits but the method I think will work best would be on the 23rd when the Steam version of the DLC will be out, while I don't own said version if the files leak and if there's a way to use the Steam exe and such (Alternate crack perhaps or emulator/loader.) this would effectively function as other Steamworks titles and unlock DLC.

Of course this is very much a guess as there's no details on how the Steam DLC will work but I assume it will interact via Steamworks so the above should be correct. Smile
(We'll see I suppose, not much else to do for now.)

Unsure if LIVE DLC could otherwise be cracked without larger changes in the LIVE client and with the security measures used that wouldn't be easy at all.

Outfits are a neat extras (And in my case they cost nothing as I have a couple of points remaining though there's not much now with this acquired.) but they don't overly change the game in any way though I suppose modding and alternate retextures and hacks would be more effective with some of these, unless maybe the content can be unlocked this way directly.
(Uncertain outside of replacing the base model with a alternate model or how it works.)

EDIT: Wouldn't you know, the alternate outfits are already being modified though it seems to be a lot of this sort of stuff however.

A friend gifted this to me via steam. It's really fun. I only played SF on the SNES back in the 90s but I could still remember some of ryu's combos ^^.

Oh, and I'm using a PS3 DS3 gamepad + MotionJoy. I can't imagine to play this with my keyboard O_o...

I do OK at a keyboard but there's a certain difficulty added to trying those circle movement combinations and similar but it works OK most of the time, wouldn't say I'm all that good or experienced (Especially now with how much this has been rebalanced and needing to re-learn a lot of stuff, heh.) but it functions against the AI so far and I'm improving slowly. Razz
(Would get my ass kicked if I went onto LIVE now though, need more practice first.)

Zangief I've managed once back with normal SF4 during the training stage, T.Hawk however is a real problem from what I've read on the Capcom forums since you need to time two full circle moves in a row first.

Might manage it once or twice though, eventually. Razz

I can do it in older SFs on emulators. The key is to jump in, do two circles input before you land and then grab the opponent. For some reason its nearly impossible in SF4 because game registers keys differently.
In all honesty I wonder if Capcom has such weird command inputs and unforgiving control schemes only to sell more of those arcade sticks.

I played a long time on the keyboard before buying a simple PS2 USB controller, and I couldn't do any of the more complicated Ultra moves, like Zangief's, Vega's and Guile's. With the controller though, it's a piece of cake.

Old version (modified exe) didn't use LIVE whereas this now does, also the FPS cap option now work so that might be why you notice odd framerate.
(Previously it dropped frames to keep the 60 FPS threshold which wasn't very good, you can of course set a different method in the options menu also such as VSync or Uncapped instead of Smooth.)

EDIT: Thus with LIVE now active the old files are not considered valid (Not encrypted.) and thus ignored is what I meant with that. Smile

(Unsure if the .cat file can be renamed and LIVE just skipped again, probably not as Skidrow required a separate .dll file though I am unsure what it did specifically.)
