I feel the NHL series has never manages to recreate the realism that FIFA has the last few years. Far too many breakaways all the time or I just suck at the game
NHL is the more realistic, and better game in my opinion.
on hard difficulty, its damn near impossible to win, but amazingly fun, and most importantly very dynamic and varied, which is what makes any sports game realistic. no two games are the same, NHL nba 2k11, and MLB the show have this down to a tee. FIFA has never managed this.
fifa gets stale after a while. and has very very undynamic AI, bournemouth play like barcelona when they have the ball. in fact very team player like barca when they have the ball. it seems ping pong passing is the only gameplay style they have ever managed to put into the game.
add on the fact that the goals start looking alike after months of play and overall while its fun to play, and looks kind of like a real game, its not that realistic.
all my opinion. i look forward to fifa 12, esp since it will be a true console port, but it will never be a game that i will love more than 2 months after its released because it starts feeling like every game is the same. whereas NHL 11 and nba 2k11 is still as fun and dynamic as ever (for me).
I agree FIFA can be improved in terms of "uniqueness" on both players and teams but as soon as you turn off auto and start playing on semi controllers it's a whole new game. Right now I am talking about Fifa 11 console, quite a bit different from the PC version, but still lots to improve.

not trying to shoot you down or anything, but I play on all manual. and THAT is the only reason i have fun with the game. It's one of the reason i could never go back to pes, until they incorporate a full manual control system across passing, through balls shooting and high balls etc. its the high point of the game.
seriously though in my opinion, the AI is stale and very samey (definitely the low point), no matter what control method you use. the fun has to be created yourself, as after you get used to the AI (on any difficulty including top) you have to force yourself to try new things otherwise every goal you score is a replica of your last one.
Lol the difference between nhl 04 and nhl 11 is huge dude.
I only play nhl 10 till 12 comes out later this year and that game is simply brilliant, 12 will be alot better too as i missed out on 11.
I am talking about NHL on the PC and it has been shit for many years, with just minor updates compared to the Xbox. And 12 will not be releases on PC.
I'm a fan, yes. Just hate to see Rooney's ugly snout once more on the game's cover. It's like the designers responsible for picking famous footballers to put on the box are damn lazy to pick a different batch of faces.
Is there other covers ? Never noticed they use different covers..they are all the same to me , always generic..it's a sports game , u can't get very creative I suppose.
EA signed a deal with Manchester City but putting Wright Phillips or Lescott on the cover would have been an insult to the whole nation
It would be funny to see some anti-football on the cover..Braca's players simulating fouls for example. You have some PS skills mate , put Balotelli on the cover to see how's gonna look , just for laughs .. or should we call Interinactive..
