|
 |
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/34830/Australian_R18_Video_Game_Guidelines_Revealed.php
Quote: | The R18+ rating will allow "virtually no restrictions on the treatment of themes", and violence in games "except where it offends against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that it should not be classified."
On the topic of sex, the draft says, "Sexual activity may be realistically simulated. The general rule is 'simulation, yes - the real thing, no'". |
The government will decided whether to take on these new guidelines in July.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

so at the end of the day, whether a game gets banned or not, still comes down to some stiff shirted prick deciding if its his DUTY to protect all the fragile CHILDREN of the world from playing games that they were never intended to, and thus making sure NO ONE can.
ugh.
so no doubt mk would still be banned because some woman finds it morally unacceptable that a woman is being 'assaulted'. and witcher 2 never woulda made it past uncut because a woman giving sex as a reward is so utterly morally bankrupt...
and thats the thing.. 'reasonable adults' arent going to be the ones involved in making the decision on banning games... its still those same stiff-shirted do-right christian nutters who have been causing the problems...
oh well...
as interinactive said... atleast we still have the internet.
atleast the next iteration of LEGO games might make it through the australian system unmolested now...

At least in Estonia kids have no problem buying 18+ games. no one, no even the parents, really give a shit.
