Well than if thats true with this game demanding such a usage on the PS2 laser, than it would happen to the people who own the original God Of War. I still think it could be the media. Mine runs flawless.

Two things:

My PS2 Slim is 3 months old, ever Game works PERFECT even such Laser Stres Games like San Andreas works PERFECT from my Verbatim Backup DVDs.
And God of War works perfect the most time, too. But sometimes and always in the same Areas I got this problem with looping Sound. Sure it can be the Media, a burned Copy is never as good as the Original. But there are so many guys who have Problems with this Game so I think it's a mixture of Media, the Game and the Rip. I don't know any reason why God of War shouldn't work as good as my other copys.

What the hell I'm stuck, I have the aphrodite necklace but when I arrive to the place where you have to put it on the statue(next to the hera one, side note: hera necklace already put it there)when I push R2 it says aphrodite statue, seems like used to have a necklace WTF!). I already have the friggin necklace :S. Someone help me please, btw I never had loading problems but now in cliffs of maddnes I experience loading times of couple of minutes....

dude, read it probably "seems like used to have a necklace" ... *used to* ....

It seems like most of the sound problem occurs in "Cliffs of Maddness" ... I don't think it's the laser problem at all. If it is, then how can it loads the 1st few sec of the music and loops again!? It's always harder to find the spot to load the file then keep reading that file. But if someone says that they can run the game flawlessly then good for them and i'm jealous

I've burned 3 copies and all good media 2xTYG01 & 1xYT0002. All scanned with KProbe, near perfect burn... But the music in that stage is kept reloading, but the worst part is if u go to an area that needs to been loaded when u enter. The game will kinda hangs there, cause it's still trying to load the music 1st!! For me, i waited for about 2min for the cage to be loaded!!

Anyway, if the rip group is Kalisto or Echelon. I don't think anything is needed to be ripped. They will probably down-sample the bonus movies to keep the whole thing in a D5. just saying...

Yeah, exactly the same Problem for me. Cliff of Madness Music sucks, there is one place with loading Time for 2 Minutes and the rest of the Game works just fine.
So it's the Rip.

Same here, tried several different dvds on my V9 and got the same exact problem! Twisted Evil
