Exactly, and I don't even want to know how cooked grenades might be abused in certain maps etc.
It sounds like a good way to destroy good gameplay.

The same reason there is still no jet, helo or CQ footage. It's a cod/moh/bc hybrid after all and they know for sure those things aren't going to live up the hype.

How the tables have turned, although if I were him I wouldn't be too upset because as soon as the next gen of consoles arrive, he'll be spoiled for choice again. I guess pc gamers are only getting some love from devs and pubs right now because the 360/ps3 technology is 5+ years old.
Game makers cannot realistically expect to remain in the long-term market for pc gaming by just getting away with flogging ports, without offering or taking advantage of pc-centric features; at this moment pc hardware is way ahead of the consoles again. (multi-screen gaming,graphical advances,muti-core etc etc.. ).
remember 2006-2009/10?. All the pubs and devs made a big long line and pretty much shafted pc gaming one after another for half a decade. They can blame piracy all they want now, but theres very little incentive for buying games that look worse and play worse then their console counterparts in 2011.
I do hope this game does sell well in the console market. It's up against heavy competition in mw3 which if anything like it's predecessors is just soo console friendly to play it hurts.
I guess pc gamers are only getting some love from devs and pubs right now because the xbox3/ps4 is coming soon and they must develop engines and tech ready for it.

Maybe I'm being too much an old-school gamer (I'm 'only' 30 years old), but these days new games are all "seen that - done that" games.
I haven't played BF3, but if I'm watching the vids I'm seeing COD-style gaming.

No teamplay, no great new gameplay elements, only the same old rambo-style gameplay.
And 8 new skins and some maps (or only 1?), wow, what a bonus.
If I'm checking my FREE collection of Quake (1-2-3), Half-Life (1-2), UT (all games) skins, models, maps and mods I feel miserable how hings have changed.
Only BIS (ArmA-games) has my support today. They support their community heavily.

Do you really think that BF3 will be so good that you have to play the beta on day 1? I doubt it in all honesty. Especially since I am quite sure the game will leave little possibilities open for clanwars and such, which are imo one of the few reasons why you would play a BF game on the first day it comes out.
