Pretty much what I'll be doing as well.
Plus, a small addition - fuck the people who buy them as well.
August 31st release date for the PC. Which means it's the SAME release date as PSN... so why the hell were Hothead being so cagey and evasive about it? That shit just pisses off their fans and for no good reason either! Either way; same day release as the other platforms - XBLA just got confirmed for the same day as well, but nobody cares about that - so I'll be buying it come release day.
Nor I, mate. Hothead were playing it off as if XBLA/PC weren't coming for a while, trying to push their new PSN Play program with Sony. I wouldn't have been so incensed about the whole thing if they'd not tried to make it sound like PSN was a timed exclusive.
I wouldn't have been so incensed about the whole thing if they'd not tried to make it sound like PSN was a timed exclusive.
But they never did that. All they did was say that they were a part of a promotional event on PSN, and that that's all they had to announce that day. Nothing on the page for the PSN PLAY event says anything about timed exclusivity. You read way too much into the "stay tuned for news about other platforms" line, and you really overreacted with the "The.Baconing-THeTA is what I'll be playing" crap, which was unfair to the developers.
Don't preemptively punish them, just because you've conditioned yourself to try to read between the lines of everything a developer says, looking for evidence of how they're out to screw PC customers or something, to confirm all these preconceived notions that they're all out to do that. It just makes people look silly.
Yes, they did exactly that. By deliberately withholding the information regarding XBLA and Steam, while simultaneously pushing the PSN Play date and schedule, it gave the exact impression that PSN was exclusive and they would announce the release date for other platforms at a later date. You don't have to read between the lines to pick THAT up.
Their fault. Not mine.
You're right that I did overreact, but that's simply due to the fact that I've supported this company for god knows how long and I don't like being cheated. I don't like being cheated by ANY company, who these days have forgotten that it's us that pay their bills. As for the "unfair to the developers" crack? Don't even bother. I buy more games than you could possibly imagine - and I've purchased multiple copies of DeathSpank so far, for each platform.

You took a lack of information, and turned it into information. That's a mistake.

Any they don't like being cheated by pirates, who these days have forgotten that it's them who make the games.
I've purchased both games on the 360. Then again on the PS3. Then again on Steam. So crawl back under your bridge.
That's fine. But you still flew off the handle and threw a childish hissy fit the second you found some way to convince yourself that there was a possibility the PC release was delayed.

"Like Nothing On Earth"
Tech headlines keep referring to that as a "drive," but it's actually a storage array. It's 200,000 actual drives (750 gigs each, I think; the extra space is for overhead).
I know that, I read that, it's the very first line.
