I think those are finishing moves though I do not know much about the system, I guess they're automated like VATS in Fallout 3 so I assume it can be disabled in the options menu but the chance of triggering one is likely rather low as to avoid becoming repetitive and tedious.
Or it could work in some other way like adrenaline or rage or just when you do a power attack and it kills the enemy, I don't quite know but someone else can likely answer this.
Still haven't seen much of douse "deathblow" animations...
But for me the ones from Fallout 3 and NV never got old, I'm a huge headshot guy and it was nice seeing all those heads explode!

we don't quite know the timespan between Oblivion/TES4 and Skyrim/TES5
It's 200 years.
Seems you're right, I know that bit of info was via the book that was mentioned some time ago, according to the timeline from there it would then be 200 years, thought that was primarily a rumor but seems to have been true.
Checking wiki's it also seems that the meteorite near Vivec's palace finally fell (Vivec likely being dead as per the Tribunal/Mournhold dispute.) so it seems Vvardenfell is no more if that's true, guess Pete Hines didn't like Morrowind much and only kept the surrounding landmass that wasn't part of TES3.

EDIT: Finding "The infernal city" proved pretty easy, now to see what actually happened to Vvardenfell.
EDIT: Yep, no Vvardenfell.
Spoiler:
...
Then the ministry crashed into
the city, and Vvardenfell exploded.”
...
Oh, its much more severe than that, the whole province of Morrowind seems to get pretty fucked after the Oblivion Crisis, Vvardenfell gone, Nords and Orcs attacking Morrowind and then a Argonian army chasing off every other dunmer off Morrowind while the remaining living dunmers relocate to the island of Solstheim (the island in the expansion Bloodmoon).
Since 200 years have passed in TES5, who knows what has actually become of the remains of Morrowind.
Morrowind was adapted to the X-Box hardware but despite that it turned out pretty well, Oblivion targeted the X360 primarily but got delayed and missed the launch title window Microsoft had wanted, for Skyrim it seems they're fully focused on accessibility and streamlining even if they say the game is still (somewhat. ) complex.
Unfortunate but a hardcore RPG would not sell all that much in todays gaming market I guess though I'm not certain if it would fail totally or still manage.
I don't know you guys but the game is looking gorgeous to me in that video, and that's only the derpbox 360 version. Even if they're not taking advantage of the PC platform capabilities like we would want them to do, it's obvious that we will see an even better-looking version of the game. If it plays at least as good as Oblivion then I know I will lose myself for countless hours in those landscapes. Just an opinion coming from the novice RPG gamer I am.
Btw, I think i've already said this, but I like the new interface, a lot.
I'm a bigger fan of Dark Messiah than I'm a TES fan. Actually, I'm not a fan of TES. I like Morrowind but I really didn't like the setting plus other things and I really couldn't get into the game. I absolutely hate Oblivion, it's such a disaster... it's one of the biggest failures in gaming ever in my opinion. Not even a million mods can fix that shit. I don't know about the older TES games as I never played them, I grew up with the Gothic games and I am very thankful for that as I find them superior in pretty much every way. That being said, I absolutely love what I'm seeing so far about Skyrim, maybe the UI is a bit retarded. I hope they take advantage of the mouse+keyboard controls at least, because if they don't it will be a pain in the ass going through some of the menus, good thing modding exists though. I also don't like the transition to third person in the finishers. I hope they'll make every finisher move in both first person and third person and let us switch between the two in the middle of the finisher if we really want, not force it onto us, but I doubt it. The game does look like an open-world, a bit more complex, almost as good as Dark Messiah first person fantasy RPG experience, with the addition of third person (which finally has good animations, damn it), so I'm still eagerly waiting for this.

Or really excited again a game. I'm sure if you got a personal preview of your most anticipated title, you'd be all stoic and stone faced.
I fucking hate when people act like that, it's stupid. It made everything look like a show for retards. They should have just shut the fuck up. And no, I wouldn't act like that in real life when I would see a demo of my favourite game.
30 mins gameplay. I love the boooo when he tells it will be prsented on xbox.
The audience is so fucking retarded. It's like they're at one of those idiotic tv shows.

That and and the fact that most of them are from Texas... yeeeehaw.
- Same animations all over again (wolf, archer strafing while shooting at you), same awkward interaction with the terrain(walking through different height levels and such).
- Interface seems consolized as SHIT, so once again it will be up to the modders to fix it...
- Dark Brotherhood officially confirmed.
- "3D kinda" map, the whole area seems pretty massive.
- The snow effects look good.
- You can use some destruction spells to work like a mine would, exploding when the enemy steps on them. :megustamucho:

Well it is looking better than vanilla Oblvion even though that ain't saying much. Some sweet mods will once again be the saving grace for this next installment and is really the only main draw for me. Sadly it seems the forced 3rd person crap is quickly become status quo in these 1st person console games, i'm hoping that some experienced modders can alleviate that post haste for us who despise these immersion killing finishing moves. The 3d item views are cool but the console UI looks like it will be pretty clunky and annoying on the pc and i seriously doubt anything will be different on the pc release. The audience sounded like a bunch of idiots having a fap fest, extremely annoying.
I'm really looking forward to this game but i just might give it a couple of weeks first to let the mod scene get a jump at it. I still occasionally play fcom Oblivion with around 100+ mods and i'm hoping this one will have that same lasting appeal as well.

DM is one of my fav games, it's really sad a sequel was never done. I love TES games but i'm also not a huge fan of the overall lore. I'm more of a Forgotten Realms dude myself.

“We're packing a lot of info on the screen and the whole interface is much less 'look at giant fonts!' than, say, Oblivion,” write the devs. “There's also a lot of “power user” stuff we do with the keyboard from how favorites work, to quick saves, and more that is similar to what we've done before in that area.”

Unless that "power user" stuff involves changing the UI to something like Darn's (which IMO it wont), we will probably see that same clunky UI on the PC version.
Not a game-breaker for me but it shows their attitude towards the PC crowd.
IF it turns out to be the same as it was shown on this video.

Does anyone know if it will support 360 gamepad on pc though?
I'm guessing no, as that was Carmack's reason for not showing the PC version (or so he says).
That was Todd Howard and I'm pretty sure that it support a 360 derptroller.
