What kind of derp preview is that? That guy sounds like he's never played anything more complex than CoD... all he does is repeat that there are too many choices and he can't grasp them all. I mean:

watching youtube and dam.. its way too similar with heroes 5 in terms of graphics and sounds.. and.. still squares.. blah
is it as shallow and basic as heroes 5 was in terms of gameplay? i dont feel like downloading 5 gigs to find out

Hmmm... played a little in campaign - what can i say...it will be very unbalanced - i mean tactics & battles may be still good, but new features with strategy and world conception looks very doubtfully! But all i ve seen had been already told us! Looks easy & arcade, i didnt like that heroes became easier, it seems like they are doing platform for mmorpg, and i understand why it is MMH and not HoMMVI...Ok i ll try to play more but cant imagine what i ll like in such new world, may be it is still interesting for me cause of new creatures

Im a bit worried about the simplification of resources, i hope its not a theme that spreads through the game. But it probably will be.
Very nice trailer tho.
(i have not played the beta)

I have now tried the demo and i must say this looks very shallow.
The new skill system really kills it for me. One of the best part of HoMM for me have always been the selection of skills, and this part seems to have been simplified to oblivion.
I kinda liked the direction of the art/theme, except for the town screen, witch is a step back imo.
Another big problem is the lack of unique racial skills and ability's (and heroes), it seems most heroes and races will play more or less the same.
From the look of the demo H6 will be the fail. H5 seems to be golden compared to this, and it was not that good compared to H2 and H3.
Oh well, there is always H7 ;D

Alt-Tabbing is much improved, it's instantly now. Previously you had to wait minutes for the game to reappear.

• Stronghold’s racial gauge filling has been decreased from 30 to 20 per friendly attacks
• Haven’s racial gauge filling has been increased by 50% when suffering casualties (Morale gives the same)
Creature stat balance
Necropolis :
• Skeleton and Skeletal Spearman:
o Health reduced by 1
• Ghost and Spectre:
o Health reduced by 1
o Charges of the Wail of the Netherworld ability reduced to 2 (from 3)
Haven :
• Sentinel and Praetorian:
o Health reduced by 3
• Crossbowman and Marksman:
o Health reduced by 2
• Sister and Vestal
o Health reduced by 2
Sanctuary :
• Pearl and Coral Priestess:
o Health reduced by 2
• Kappa and Kappa Shoya:
o Health reduced by 2
Stronghold :
• Goblin and Goblin Hunter
o Health reduced by 2
• Blood Eyed Cyclops
o Mighty Slam now deals 100% damage (instead of 150%)
Inferno

Me and my friend are playing HOMM in hotseat mode since HOMM 3, and we tried the demo. It doesn't feel that different than previous heroes. We're having fun in any case.
My only complaint is the town interface. It looked better in previous games.

Yeah i've been playing the beta now for a while and it's just as fun as previous versions. Except for the 4th one. The resource simplicity is very minor in the end you really dont notice as the core gameplay is still the same. It doesn't break the game what so ever. The town interface could be better and the RPG elements of the game are better. The first beta I spent 9 hours on two single player maps and played a little MP. If you like this series then I dought you will be much disapointed unless you really dig deep to find faults to complain about.

I agree, RPG elements do feel better and resource simplification has minimal impact. Everything else feels exactly the same as the old heroes.
Graphics overall are also better, both technical and artistic.
I just hope they include a shitload of MP maps with the full version.
