You said "there's actually no way to know how many pirated copies there are". Well there is a way to get an idea.

To be fair, the first game had it, so it's a somewhat valid question.
Actually, it didn't come with multiplayer, it was patched in later since so many people nagged them about it.
Quote:
Deus Ex was designed as a single player game, and the initial releases of the Windows and Macintosh versions of the game did not include multiplayer functionality. Support for multiplayer modes was later incorporated through patches. The component includes three game modes: deathmatch, basic team deathmatch, and advanced team deathmatch. Only five maps, based on levels from the single-player portion of the game, were included with the original multiplayer patch, but many user-created maps now exist. The PlayStation 2 release of Deus Ex does not offer a multiplayer mode.
I don't know why people scream "we want mp" when it comes to games that were designed purely as a single player story-based action driven game. It never ends well anyway. I prefer the division between single player and multiplayer games. Let the mp-crowd have their BF3's, CoDMWX5, MoHBO2 etc....
sorry guys.like i said prefer to read than to post.
i played the leak, every part of it,and,at least for me,this is the GAME this year!kudos to the studio, never been so much excited than this before!!!!! (about games,of course).
nice day to you all
True. Great atmosphere, characters and storytelling it had, but even at the time the AI was laughably bad. The game really suffered IMO if you just blasted your way through everything, but that is the players choice.
I wouldn't call the action in Deus Ex bad, I would call it clumsy. But with every other aspect of the gameplay being so brilliant it just didn't matter. I was too immersed in that shit to care about anything else.
