It has it's faults but the demo worked out OK.
Stuff tends to shine for things you can collect, this mostly goes for weapons (In the demo these are most already acquired but it refills ammo then.) and ammo/grenade containers (Refills all weapons somewhat.) but also for audio-logs (Those skull like drones.) and probably other items (Switches too come to think of it and the reliquary where you take the power-axe to replace the chainsword.)
Enemies deal quite a bit of damage even on the lowest difficulty level and to regain health you have to do feats like those finishing moves (But it refills quite a bit of health.) some weapons like just the power-axe allows to stun and this makes it quite a bit easier, armor does however take damage as well which depletes shields though it automatically repairs itself after some time.
Melee is pretty visceral but the AI or at least these orcs (Ork's) in the first of the two demo missions are completely braindead and act only depending on type of enemies, "shoota's" will stand back and try and snipe you for example (Dealing a fair amount of damage as well.) whereas Boyz and those goblin like things will try and swarm you and the enemies usually attack as a massive horde, it's quite humorous to see all the gore and destruction but the AI as to get back to that usually tends to rush the player and occasionally the other AI teammates (Whom seem immortal.) this is especially true when a Nob (Or two towards the end of the first mission.) just rushes straight for you and pounds you dead.
Some clipping with the way things are animated but overall it sounds pretty good and for a console title it looks OK if a bit low-res for certain textures plus the level was sort of a big enclosed hallway with few open areas aside from these types of places where enemies tend to swarm you.
(I preferred the bolter but it goes trough ammo very quickly, that sniper type version is extremely effective also but has very limited ammo, grenades works as well as they should and the sword/axe+bolt pistol combo is effective up close and to do those special moves, never used the grenade launcher weapon much but it's proxy type functionality can be effective against large groups in smaller spaces.)
Don't know much about the story, this mission was about stopping the new weapon the imperial guard and possibly inquisition have been working on from falling to the Ork's and maybe worse.
(Chaos troops have been featured in quite a few screens.)
Of course how the outpost actually fell seems questionable since the Ork's seem pretty bad so far (Who knows though.) and I'd imagine a factory like that would have had turrets, lemans and possibly baneblades and whatever else they have in order to gaurd the facility.
(Then again those Ork's usually swarm in very high numbers as far as I've understood it but what do I know, ha ha.)

Orks are fungi, so their numbers are near endless. This is what makes them a pretty large threat (of course, their ability to make weapons out of nothing but scrap metal helps).

If there is one thing I would complain about, it's the ork's voices..
They aren't orkified enough imho.. Dow2 sounded better there.

First result in Google after searching " warhammer.40.000.space.marine.demo-ALI213 " It's a torrent but it came down pretty damned fast for me. Just extracted and I'm about to test it =)

The demo isn't cracked, so no one can play it at the moment. Plus, it's officially coming out next week.

I have it since yesterday and it doesn't work for me. It just crashes and then starts steam. I tried with different cracks, but nothing. Actually, with the files from the p2p crack for FEAR 3 it did start (somewhat). The black screen appeared, it stayed like that a bit than it crashed like it did before, but it didn't start steam anymore.

Only people with Steam pre-order can downloand and play the demo. The ALE213 version DOES NOT work. Now, move along.

Orks sort of have the same mindset as kiddies have with LEDs in their computer.
If orks think red colour makes a truck go faster, it'll go faster.

I agree, and I've seen a few people on the Space Marine forum complaining about it as well. It sounds a bit strange when they say "kill the humans" instead of "kill da humies"

Anyway I'll download the "full demo" anyway, no need to pre-order anything.
