You can play it as an fps - there are specific augmentations and some very non-stealth weapons. It's not as fun as stealth but it is possible.

Since when was Divvy specifically talking about DE:HR?

He wrote "PC gaming" and "console gaming" and about a "guard surprising you" and "firing a burst at you point black", something that's common in FPS games.

Furthermore DE:HR isn't a "PC" game, it's multiplatform.

To compare "PC gaming" and "console gaming" you need to compare PC exclusives to console exclusives - or console focused games (aka 99% of multiplatform games).

You could just take the joke... or I could go cereal and explain what's behind it.

It's more my perceived design philosophy behind the platforms. Human Revolution kills you pretty quickly in that situation and I would call it a PC-centric design in many ways. A PC exclusive with the same design is Stalker series. Very little leeway to mess up in combat. Or Witcher 2, which I fully expect to be nerfed in difficulty for the console versions. Now go play a console-centric design and see yourself popping bullets like Robocop. You can basically charge head-first into enemy fire and still live to kill one or two of them and get back to cover to wait out your regen. I can do this in Bad Company 2, Black Ops, Mass Effect 2 and Fear 3 all the time.

I don't like the notion that when it's guard vs player 10-3, the player still wins. The guard gets the first shot, gets more hits in, and you still win? Somehow the guard's bullets don't do as much damage as yours with the same gun, or somehow your human being without armor is an order of magnitude tougher than the enemy human being without armor. Very common to gaming these days. Happy to see DX:HR breaking the mold.

Time to beg:

I assure you, I won't ask the following with pride, but here I go making a clown out of myself:

For mostly monetary reasons, I can't buy DXHR from steam afterall (such was my plan, the fool that I am, I even posted, that I did Sad ), there's been an ... event ... in my family, and had to spend quite a lot on trying to bring the best out of it, so I had to cut corners. I will be buying DXHR sometime at the end of next week, once I get cash, but I will be left out of the TF2 promotional items. Now, sure, I'm not an aesthetic whore, but the Deus Specs look like nothing before, plus I can express my love for a great game, but I now won't have the chance.

So, my question is: do any of you, who preordered DXHR from steam, have no need for the DXHR promotional items in TF2? If so, could you possibly gift them to me? I'd be your loyal NFOHUMP bitch for at least a month Very Happy

Thanks in advance!

There are hardly any new FPS exclusives coming to PC (Arma and Red Orchestra are the only ones I can think of), therefore it's no longer the case that in general the PC has more demanding games. 9/10 of new FPS titles on PC are multiplatform thus they are just as forgiving on PC as they are on consoles.

And don't forget Hard Reset as well.

HR is indeed a multiplatform game, there's no doubt about it, but (as we've seen in the leak) it's definitely atypical and more PC-focused than the majority of titles released these days, where everything from the average complexity to the interface/hud are designed to be played with a gamepad.

It's probably the best example of "multiplatform game done right" (from the perspective of a PC user of course Razz).

Playing through deus ex 1 and 2 to warm up for deus ex 3. Deus ex 2 isn't really that bad, but i hate the consolified interface and small levels with a loading screen around every corner Laughing

Honestly, it gets a REALLY bad rap due to the tiny levels, long loading and bullshit UI .. but the game isn't as bad as many, many others we could name

The atmosphere/story/music were quite good indeed (I've never finished though Crying or Very sad ) and even the gameplay wasn't that bad after all... it was just not a worthy sequel; let's say it was a decent..hmm "spin-off" Razz

I've been in Cracow for a few days, and I've been out of the loop.

So, if you preordered from GMG you get no ingame items and missions? Only the soundtrack, artbook, and making-of?

imo dx2 was one of the worst game sequals ever alng with oblivion. it cmpletely missed everything that made the first game such a masterpiece. So even if the game in itself isnt all that bad, whenever i try and play it im just reminded of what a huge dissapointment it is and what it couldve been if put in the proper developer hands.
less than a week away, cant wait for dx3.

AUDs are spread around the gameworld and stores like lockpicks were, only more rare and valuable

Have you got a source for this, please? I've not been able to find a definitive answer regarding the availability of AUDs without the Explosive Mission pack.

Well, the leak had some for sale and just lying around. Maybe you just get extra AUDs at the start of the game if you have the AE.

I've also read on GMG forums that all those things can still be aquired in the game by exploring and shit. Not entirely convinced anyway.

The leak also had the Linebacker and other exclusive weapons that are exclusive to the AE. Please don't take the leak as "proof" because everything in it is purely for reviewers to review. As for AUDs? Nope, you don't start with any - you have to buy/find them, so the AE bonuses definitely don't mean "you start with them"

@Neon

Yes, it says "get one at the start of the game and can also be found in the game" It's not exactly clear on the distinction.
