good to see another adventure game released, where you actually gotta use yer head instead of blowing away everything in sight..

anyways how does this one compare to syberia? i was really dissapointed with that one, characters were bland and the puzzles were all un-inspired, imo.

and as for it being a police mystery part, is it pretty realistic? i hate those mystery games that play out like a tv detective drama or something, not the real thing..

This is pretty sad but I am stuck right off the bat.

I am in the apartment with the other woman and I need to collect all the evidence.

So far I have:

- Photo and collected fibers on nail
- Photo and collected blood on floor
- Photo of blood on wall of room with blood on floor
- Photo of blood on wall in room with skull graffitti

Whenever I talk to the woman it says I am missing something.

Please give me a hand here.

Thanks.

Yes, when u are in front of the woman, go the the room under you, then go the room left to that one, and u see some hair left to the door.

This is really a great oldschool type adventure.
The graphics are beautiful, the cutscenes well shot, the voice acting is generally very good, the storyline well written (dual time plots offer a nice change of setting/pace), and the mood is extremely dark/intense.
Also has humor thrown in where appropriate (think meathead, you'll see).
Also, there are alot of extra clippings/dialogues/hidden articles etc. that help build on many of the characters you meet, and thus, you feel as if you really get to know them as people, not just random npcs.

I gotta admit though...the puzzles just aren't for me. I mean , come on, who the fuck locks a trunk with a card symbol combination on alternating roller thingies. Or uses a safe whos combination is on cryptic coded tiles?
I realize alotta people like these types o things (and thats great), but for me it just detracts from the immersion/realism factor.

Thankfully, found that nice walkthrough listed to "assist" with the assenine and unrealistic combo puzzles Smile

Haven't gotten to the end yet, but so far, really enjoying it (alot more than I thought I would).
Would really recommend it to anyone with a hint of interest, as it seems excellent.

thanks for the walkthrough, I was stuck at that spot too. Problem is I read the walkthrough right to the end, so theres no point playing the game Twisted Evil

This has happened to me with every adventure title, so I generally avoid them but this one looked so good, I just wanted to try it....

There's no way to increase the resolution. Microids really needs to stop cranking out these games with the same crappy graphics engine from 1972. The only thing they change is the images and the story. Nothing inovative has ever been created by Microids.

so better check here:

few things.. i loved the game because i think the graphics were very nice and smooth. but i do have to say that i finished the game way to fast i did it in 2 days, so let's say maybe 8-10 hours of play? so that was too bad, but i loved the story..

about who the killer is.. it's indeed strange that richard was just gone. and the fact that he never returned you the file you asked about (list of ppl with connections to the painter).. but i don't know.. you can continue playing online i've given that a try but that's nothing special.

Richard can't be the killer... there's no way for him to have gotten into the morgue early on, and also the phone conversation in the hot tub at the end (after the credits roll) makes it sound like Victoria is going to LA to try to figure out who the killer was/is. If it was Richard, I'm pretty sure that his disappearance would have been noticed. The same goes for Miller, another popular suspect in these discussions. He could have gotten into the morgue, but he was accounted for at the time, and also his disappearance would be obvious.

I think it's pretty clear that the killer is someone not actually introduced in the game, probably a descendant of the Ackerman family. Also, it's most likely two people, if you think about it. The actual killer and the Queen of Secrets from the Red Lantern club. Her identity was unknown to the other girls, but she had to be involved in all of it.

In the end, it's just poor writing to leave the game hanging like that. Instead of coming up with a story that made sense, they cheated and took the lazy way out. Since there won't be a third game in the series to explain everything, it's even more annoying.
