So is the VPN method safe? I have been running circles all morning as I have nothing to do on what's left of my holiday but drink beer with my friends, or spend some "quality time" with my gf. But now I don't want to get drunk, nor I want my steam account banned! I know I'm a bit paranoid right now but my account is rather valuable. Surely there's nothing to worry about, if I choose to accelerate my unlock time like this?

Anyway, thanks guys! The FXAA thing isn't really an issue, at least I can play =) I'll fix my ATi shit later.
@VPN stuff
If it helps; there are plenty of people talking about using VPN on the Steam forum, including linking to free VPN software and sites, and NO Valve staff have stepped in to say it's against TOS. Honestly? You're fine to use a VPN for unlocking, but NOT for purchasing.

Sabin, although I do not know much about the downsides to Catalyst 11.8 / 4.2 OGL preview and it's App Profile I am fairly certain there's specific stuff in the latest driver for Deus Ex 3 (There's been a profile since a while back though.) so that might be why it bugs out, still if it works just by disabling FXAA it might be easier to just keep it disabled.
(Majority of issues regards Crossfire and some of the newer generation cards, technically all we get - 4000 series and below - is mostly smaller tweaks and fixes to the drivers themselves and CCC.)

To all playing without using lethal force. Make me understand whats so special with not killing anyone? IMO its so much fun to sneak up on someone and break their necks or get that perfect headshot using a sniper rifle. Sometimes its really satisfying to pump someone full of bullets with a rifle.
I agree with those stating that this shouldnt be played as a run and gun shooter, I really outgrew those. But still to me one of the pleasures is to kill whenever possible. Also because its better to eliminate a guard than to just sneak past him or hit him unconcious but risking another guard waking him up.
Dont mess with God, he can impregnate your girlfriend/wife without taking his pants off!

given that i havent played this game, i still think i can answer that question...
given that the goal of pretty much EVERY game is to KILL SHIT, sometimes the idea of sneaking around, not getting noticed... playing for the thrill of noone ever noticing you were there... its a whole other type of enjoyment and satisfaction.
like hitman. i got the most enjoyment out of those games by killing NO ONE except the target.
so i guess i can see the point... we get enough KILL EVERYTHING type games... having the OPTION to play a game where sneaking around without killing, can make for an incredibly rewarding change

Ever since my 100% pacifist playthrough of Chaos Theory on the hardest difficulty, I can really appreciate the feeling of imagining the guards trying to explain to the big boss how the place was infiltrated without a single one of them noticing a thing or even getting knocked out. Gunning everyone down is one thing. KO-ing everyone to go on undisturbed is another. And slipping past everyone and still complete the objectives is a whole new ballgame.
