i play and loved almost all mech games.
watching those trailers i get a feeling of unreal tournament with mech skins, and mech ui. not real mech combat.
at the simplest, i need susbsystem targeting, not a generical "health" bar.
separate movement for torso and legs ...
and i could list prolly 10+ more reasons (when i'm trully awake) that this is not a "mech" game, is a crappy joke in that domain.
is just wrong to be able to turn 180 degrees in 1-2 sec. it kills the mech feeling.
i really dunno about this game. its still work in progress so i wont rip on the graphics (but as it is some bits look great, some look shit)
its just that some games you see videos for and even without playing them you get a feeling for how it would be IF you were playing it.. and something about it makes it look like it wouldnt be a very refined gameplay experience...
part of me is also going BOOO in regards to the very spam-focused gameplay, but another side of me is saying YAY because its clearly going against the typical shit you see in games like crysis 2 and i assume cod n shit, where fights are over really quickly and whoever sees the other person first will usually win.
i dunno.. could be good, but as it stands, its not high on my list of must-plays.

Usually I'd agree with human_spam, but not this time... Hawken SCREAMS "Multiplayer arena domination!!" from every pore. I'm seriously looking forward to playing this as it's the best we've got until the next Mech Warrior game finally gets off the drawing board.

Yes, exactly. It's not a mech simulator and it never was. All over the place, they describe it as a "mech combat FPS," not a Mechwarrior-style sim.
