what can i say... i gave them the benefit of the doubt, them being one of the game devs that i geniunely thought gave a fuck for their established fanbase...
i didnt buy DA2 cos of graphics, i thought the art style might have suited the story/setting/gameplay.. and in a way it did- its simplified art style totally suited the games simplified story, simplified(derped) inventory/party management, manwhore companions and copy paste environments
when there is no more room in hell, the D34D will walk the earth

@D34Dite,
It's ok man. Bioware DA team is downright evil. Selling their game fooling the masses has been their strategy from even before the release date.
You just fell victim to it, unfortunately.

Screw this. About the only thing I expect from Bioware now are decent stories. Sucks that many of the quests from DA2 were more or less ripped off from BG2 and DA2 still sucked. Pretty much the worst game BW has done.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Good stories, from BioWare? DA2 not only sucked gameplay wise (worst "classical" rpg ever), but it had terrible, terrible narrative. Disjointed, forced, emotionally not engaging ... etc. But hey, at least it had a legion of male characters not trying in the least to hide their desire to buttfuck you. Great!

indeed, the only good 'story' in da2 came at the VERY end... because to me, THAT sounded like the start of an INTERESTING plot....
and i dunno, PERHAPS, if DA2 was NOTHING but a set-up for the next game, then it IS possible the next game will potentially have an interesting core story concept...
but the bulk of DA2 was just piddling about from one location to the next, with only the vaguest of justification as to why.

DA2 really had terrible everything, especially the story which was just a horrendous mess. But I will defend their previous games; while not the magnum opus of originality or deep thought they were always engaging imo. At least in the moment. You'd get swept up playing it, even if after you finished you realized it was pretty flawed.
But thanks for fucking even that up for yourselves, Bioware.

The ending was the only good thing about DA2. Everything Hawke did turned the world asunder and instead of being the saviours he/she inadvertently became the destroyer. I think many people couldn't handle this well.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Bioware are really dead. Greed has destroyed their reputation but then again they are rolling in cash for half the effort so from their perspective they are winners. SWTOR is the last game I will buy from them, I have lost all faith in them.

WTF BioWare? Are you planning to recycle ideas for Mass Effect 2 plot?
| Are you sure you got that right, that's actually DA1 and ME3 plot

4 games with the same plot, I guess they are.

Technically all their games have the same plot, just refurbished in a slightly different form.

Well, according to the above chart it's either Neverwinter Nights or DA1.

"in fact, Dragon Age 2 was widely considered to be the ever-reliable Bioware’s first goof."
Not so reliable after that are they. Unless you're going down the "reliable to goof-up" alley.

Like the 'article' says, all we need is a better story and less bisexual romances. And better DLCs too!

Quote: | "Dragon Age 2 was incredibly polarising and it caught us off-guard, honestly. It appealed to a new fanbase and we were delighted by that, but we've heard fans who wanted more of the Origins experience. We have to take all that feedback and find a way to marry those together, so we can bring everyone on the journey with us." |
Pleasing both the parts is a mission impossible, it's either 'them' or us: all the people who bought DA2 and enjoyed its accessibility (a lot of people actually) will expect the same with DA3; sadly we're the minority here and minority always takes the awesome® backseat.

I'm not sure but didn't DA1 sell better than DA2? I actually enjoyed DA2, ofc it was worse than DA1 but it was still a more enjoyable game for me than most other games these days.
Back to the topic though, they've stated several times that they are aware of the feedback for DA2 so I would expect DA3 to turn out better.

I highly doubt they got that new fanbase because of the changes made, since almost every review bitched about recyclage (stupidest Bioware move ever) and the global ease/laziness of development. DA2 sold well because it was named "Dragon Age", simple as that. If Bioware really is starting to think "we did well with DA2 guys, it sold so well", they're even stupider than I thought

I think it did, at least on all 3 platforms combined. But I guess that DA2 sold better on the consoles than DA1 did and that's what they wanted.
