I hate all the console talk. Because:
1. People haven't tried the games
2. It doesn't depend on machine power but the quality of the games
3. The next generation consoles will be so powerfull that the last games won't use all the power of either the box or ps.
Considder a Athlon 64 x2 without a operating system and a console without games, thats exactly the same. And it is simply not cool to play movies on a console unless it supports all you need. But yes the specs are impressive until now.

But with more power comes potentially better games.
The point in time I look forward to is when developers are restricted more by their imaginations then the hardware.

Have you even tried it, its just different then what you know? I have a feeling its going to be very comfortable in the hands see how smooth it is. And I started to like the way it looked awhile ago.

I gotta agree, it looks smoother and probably it feels better than the old controller, but the left analog stick is still in the wrong spot.
The Xbox360 controller is without a doubt the winner... I wonder how is the one for Nintendo Revolution gonna look like.

I love the s-controller, and IMO it is by far the superior controller when compared to the dual shock if you have both consoles and are used to using both controllers. This new xbox 360 controlloer looks like it simply improves on an already great design, where as the new PS3 controller is a joke, but to be honest i can't imagine that the design will be the same as it is now by the tiome the console releases.

Can anyone confirm this utterly as I don't have any bandwidth spare to download them at the moment? If we can expect those graphics on the PS3s (initial launch!), it's already got my pre-order...

Well one of the developers is being interviewed.
The interviewer says,
"Is it FMV because it looked amazing?"
Dev; "No this is definitely real, I suppose we're pretty good at keeping secrets, because the dev kits have been out for a while and they're very intuitive, people have been able to do some incredible things. We want people to understand that this is real gameplay"
Interviewer; " Wait, so thats real gameplay?"
Dev; "Yes, thats real gameplay"
OMFG!

Well, I hope semantics don't become an issue (you can't keep a good pessamist down ) but if this is true then that has restored my interest. Watching that video it was almost too good to be real, very cinematic and you could imagine watching it as an animated feature film it was that good...

Yes I agree.
It's possible he could mean this is what the gameplay will be like. But it seems to me from watching the video that he means that it looks like that in-game.

I know I remember them saying it was FMV during there presentation, and it doesnt look good enough to be cgi(I mean really if it was they could have made it look even better). But now we have definitive conformation. And thats just a first generation game. Damnit, we have to wait so freakin long now.

Ignore ALL hype until consoles come out. Trust me on this one, Sony & Microsoft have historically ramped up thier marketing before release. So incredibly much.
Just like how the "emotion" engine was supposed to allow PS2 games to exhibit emotions in some vague and poorly explained way. Sony was trying to push early PS2 games to develop AI that would react emotionally to things (like drivers getting aggressive, and so on) to emphasize this point.
Also this one:
http://money.cnn.com/1999/03/01/life/playstation/
I mean come ON!
Quote from guy @ E3:
Code: | I was at E3 and gaming journalism is broken.
Because every developer on the floor knew that the most impressive demos for the PS3 were totally prerendered. They could even name the people who worked on them. And for some reason no one in the games journalism community would point blank persistently ask Sony and groups like Axis Animation what the deal was. Look at this article [ign.com] where it's all speculation and guessing. The public deserves to know that what they were shown is not exactly how a game is going to look on PS3. Meanwhile, closed door demos of the Xbox 360 were actually impressive. I don't work for either company or work in games for that matter, though I do love them. I am totally neutral about both machines. My bias is negative towards Microsoft as I'm a Mac zealot and my Xbox is my least favorite console. I went into E3 feeling Microsoft had blown it. Then I saw what it could do, held the controller in my hand, and now am impressed and rather excited about the Xbox 360. And privately a developer told me that they aren't anywhere near having the machines run full speed or utilizing their full power in the very obvious Mac G5 dev kits they're running everything from. But I will say this: HDTV is going to be a requirement. The PS3 remains vaporware in my mind - I recall claims of rendering scenes of the Final Fantasy movie on PS2's "emotion engine". And ultimately what's even sadder is there were a mere handful of games at E3 that made me excited. Okami, the new Zelda, We Love Kattamari, Shadow of the Collossus, Stubbs the Zombie, and that's pretty much it. Horsepower may be here, but games are as stunted, as juvenile, and as retreaded as ever. Future marines vs. monsters and bimbos galore. Meanwhile next gen gaming is going to cost more, Microsoft have shunted most PC development to the Xbox, killing the richness of PC games for the most part other than MMORPGs. And now we're going to have live updating advertising in games, along with additional content that will have to be purchased. Want that sword +2? You can buy it for $4.99. Welcome to gamer hell. | [/code]

God.
If he (guy @ E3) werent such a stupid ass he would know that some of the most impressive games for the ps3 at e3 were REALTIME (if he dont understand the word REALTIME, he shuld look it up), and they proved more than enough that the 1year away ps3 is more than capable to render awesome graphics.
Just the fact that they had such impressive games to show this early is quite amazing.
I'm so sick of the "ps3 only showed renderers" when it's totally untrue. Dont believe the hype could have been true if there were ONLY renderers or non game demos, but it clearly was not.

Pallebrun, watch the interviews posted with the devs earlier and tell me what you think. It seems to me that the PS3 demos's were real time. Which is absolutely amazing!
I just want to make sure that I haven't got mistaken, which is entirely possible.

I pretty much doubt that... with Ken Kutaragi calling Xbox360 just simply Xbox 1.5, it just shows that Sony might fear M$ upcoming console.
Kutaragi was also the one who said Xbox will get killed even before hitting the market.
Well, we all know his prediction was wrong... and wasn't hard to figured out Sony's middle name - ignorance.
