I think it's only the fact that we've been getting a lot of good games lately. This is by far the best year in gaming in the last couple of years.

LOL...

I bought a key from a reputable keystore once, said it was region free, even stated on it that could be used with all manner of languages...

guess what... it was region locked to german..

hmm yes I dont believe what any key store says these days.. they only want you're money..

Nope it's not - you can't have a dodgy curry and then say every Indian restaurant is shit... QED.

I had bad treatment from 2 sellers who tried to scam me with used keys. One was a right cunt and tried to just ignore me. I went to paypal and both refunded. I also had two keys revoked from 2 other sellers. Both gave me replacements. Intkeys has very good customer service with live chat support - I haven't used them (at least not yet but I'd not worry about trying them) but they are very reassuring towards customers and you can go look for yourself.

You are making statements about them that you haven't actually validated. Most of the stuff posted about key sellers and banned accounts etc is all just the same. Someone posts a general opinion that is unsubstantiated and then some else says, "I read that blah blah". It's just like Chinese whispers - load of bollocks at the end.

Steam never bans accounts for purchasing dodgy keys. That's a myth. The most Valve do is simply disable/remove the offending game.

Nah - I think it's great that loads of ppl buy dodgy keys - if only to piss off all the judgmental "good guys" who need to get counselling for their angst. Cool Face

That's universally retarded dude. There are many of us who like to scavenge for good deals but also have bought easily over a hundred games from steam.

Steam, to me, has come into its own as a consumer-first type service that treats gamers right, as opposed to criminals. When it started out and was Valve-only and was pretty restricted I had my doubts. But these days steam is pretty much my one and only source for PC Gaming, with just a few exceptions.

If they started banning accounts for using services like these, that would be a total reversal of the openness and opposition to dracronion drm methods that steam and valve employees have become known for. It would bring out a shitstorm of bad media and press and fan outrage which has been all warm-and-fuzzy towards valve and steam up till then. Besides that, to my knowledge none of these services have come under fire, legally or otherwise so I figure until otherwise I will continue to use them.

Is that a problem or will we see a crack on Tuesday when the game is released in the USA?

I'm not up to date with protection.
